Need help

Hi, my name is Zach and I play a beat up Fender telecaster and a Taylor 314. Used to have a Strat and Ibanez but had to sell them for tuition money...anyway, I have a problem on my hands. I took it upon myself to build an electric guitar from scratch with no experience whatsoever. Foolish, perhaps, but things have been going pretty well anyway. I can't figure out how to do the wiring though, can someone please help me with this?
I have a Gibson Classic 57 in the bridge, and a GFS humbucker in the neck (the 57 has a black wire and shield, the GFS has white and red wires and a shield). I am using a Fender 3-way switch, one volume and one tone control. I've looked online for wiring diagrams that would apply to me but can't find anything that I can interpret well enough.
Thanks.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

hi all,

my name is ryan and i am 34 and live in australia.
i have been playing guitar for nineteen years, and have been in various bands.
in the past i have had an ibanez sg and a white 1990 RG 560.
at the moment i have:

- magenta RG 7420
- metallic red RG 560
- esp kh203
- takamine ef 340s acoustic electric
- takamine g series acoustic
- boss gt-8
- bbe 381 guitar preamp
- behringer ep 2500 2*1200watt power amp
- laney 4*12 quad box

the rg 560 is strange in that it has a bound neck and body, sharkfin inlays, and a reverse headstock as well as a paf pro. as far as i can tell it was bought new in japan and has factory rg 560 stamps on the neck and body, the salesman told the owner that it was super rare. anyone have any ideas what this baby really is? it is kind of a cross between a 540 p-II and a custom rg

(if anyone thinks my 555 sucks...I dont care...hehhe)...well, that's enough by now...see you !

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi everyone,

Im 25 from Delaware. I've been playing guitar off and on since i was 17, but have gotten pretty serious about it in the last year or so. I recently picked up an '86 roadstar II RG410 as a project guitar, an ended up here while researching trems.

My primary axe is a Dimarzio loaded RG470..
Here's a pic of my gear.

Gear Pic

The LP is a '77 ibanez custom copy that I've had since I was a young kid, and recently had refurbished.

Later,

Steve

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi folks!
I've been around for some time, but recently I've decided to register.
This site was very informative for me,and forum also had great share in it,as well.
I live in Croatia,SouthEastern Europe.I'am 21 years old and been playing guitar for 4 years.I am using ibanez rg guitar, laney amps, dimarzio pickups and I am great fan of tech 21 products(especially sansamps).
But enough with tehnicalities ;-)

I prefer and mostly play metal music(like heavy metal and stuff similar to that),but i am great fan of fusion as well (gambale, howe,di meola) and stuff like that.i am also interesten in neoclassical/shred styles...what the hell,i like everything with good and emotional guitars.
the guy that probably influenced my playing the most is marty friedman.
I am playing in croatian heavy metal band "VEGA",and if you want you can visit our website @ http://www.vega-metal.com

and eh...I apologize on my english mistakes...(I doubt there aren't some) :-)

cheers folks!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi,

Those of you who frequent sevenstring.org will probably recognise me, but for those who don't I'm James and I live in England.

I have quite a guitar obsession, the current collection consists of:

Ibanez S7420
Ibanez RG7321 with Dimarzio Evo7(b) and Blaze Custom(n)
Ibanez RG7621 with EMG's
Ibanez AJ307CENT 7 string acoustic
Schecter A-7 with Dimarzio TZ7(b) and PAF7(n)
A pair of Jackson Roswell Rhoads (one black, one metalflake blue)
A custom Flying V with a fully scalloped fretboard
BC Rich bronze series Warlock with a Dimarzio X2N(b)

My main rig is: Digitech Whammy->Digitech GNX4->Marshall EL84 20/20 & Rocktron Velocity 120->2 Marshall 1936 2x12's.

I play in a band called Promise No Lies and we sound like Chimaira and Machine Head with lots of random influences showing through.

Hi I have had an Ibanez GRX40 for the past 3+ tears, and recently got an Epiphone 1956 G-400 with Maestro tremolo... I don't own a JEM yet but it is my dream guitar

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello Guys!
I'm from spain and I play the guitar for 13 years now. I own a classic guitar, a Yamaha Pacifica and a Ibanez (of course). My amp is a Laney LC30-II and I play a lot of styles. I'm playing in a great band, with a saxophone, piano, contrabass, e-bass, drums and another e-guitar. Thanks for your help and this site!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello people.
My name is Daniel and I'm an avid guitarist of many years. I study music at Uppsala University in Sweden, and play various venues where the pay is good while looking for the perfect people to start a cutting-edge metal band, at which point I very likely won't be paid at all.
Frankly, I'm not a JEM player, but I have recently gotten an RGT220H Prestige, and since I'm new to Ibanez guitars, I'd like to be in the best place to discuss them.
Brief introduction over, I shall now browse to my heart's content.

All the best.
