Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello Everyone........Fellow Ibanezers
Its nice to see so many others with a shared passion! I got my first Ibanez RG550 in the early, early 90's. I knew right then & there I would never play anything else. Well..............until the Universe hit the market. I havent touched a 6-string since. I managed to snag a brand new black UV that was second hand. Yes............brand new used. A lefty had bought the guitar, strung it upside down, put holes in the bottom horn for the strap. He had it for one week and didnt like it, if you can imagine that! He traded it in for a Jem or something. The salesman had just hung it back on the wall when I had walked in. Still strung upside down & all. "SNAG!!" Serial number was 000976. I quite literally slept with that guitar for years. At the time, I was in a cover band in the Seattle area. We were in the process of crossing over into originals. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Gruntruck, were all putting the Grunge scene on the map. At the time............to the very best of my knowledge, I was the only one using a seven string exclusively in the club circuts. Of course...........all the usual band politics & problems never let us get past that level as all our friends were becoming rock stars. Oh well!?
Well......years later........Im now married, house, dogs, cats...........all that. I no longer have that old Universe, but I have my RG 7-string. I quit playing for the last 3 years due to all kinds of reasons. But........the burn is too much to handle. Back in the saddle again. And let me tell ya, its nice to know there are so many of you out there to bleed my brain to. Now..........I just need to get my hands on my dream Multi-swirled Universe...........and life would be complete!..........LOL!!

I'm Rick or CoachZ, from a neutral place called Canada and I've been playing guitar for a few years. Very young in comparison to some here.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey All,

I am a high school guitar player and builder. My main guitar is a PRS Custom 22, but i'm building a JEM replica. My dad has alot of vintage guitars like a 65 Sg and a 66 Tele. I use Fender Amps, and yes they can shred. The only stomp boxy i use is an Ibanez Tube Screamer. I play gauge 11 and 12 strings and i like Metal, Classic Rock, Blues Jazz and lots of stuff. My current project is a hardtail neckthru shred guitar that I'm working on uilding a sustainer for. Its gonna be finished in a Trans Blue Burst.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello my name is Chris and looking for a few replacement parts for my 570 I found this site and it is awsome! I own 2 Ibanez guitars a 1991 RG 570 and a 1991 RG 550, both bought new by me. I also own a 1998 ESP George Lynch Kamakaze also bought new. I have been playing since age 12 and grew listening to Lynch/Rhodes/EVH. My amps are a Crate Blue Voodoo 120H Half Stack and Marshall JCM Half Stack the only effects I use at this time is a Boss GT-8.

I really look forward to being a part of this forums, it is a great resource that I hate it took this long for me to find.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey my name is Khanh (yeah, not exactly white! lol). I've been playing guitar for a few years now. I'm currently studying Jazz on my own. I currently own a Line6 Spider II amp combo along with an Ibanez SA160 (being sold soon) which is my first guitar, an Ibanez Prestige RG1570MMR with a DiMarzio Tone Zone in the neck from 2005 and my most recent addition to my collection is a RG570GN from 2000.

I love Ibanez guitars and I look forward to posting in this forum.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey all,
My nane is Steve and I'm a really bad guitarist, but a guitar lover none the less. I'm building a guitar from scratch and it seems to be giong better than I'd expected.

http://sexybeast.tagenmmorpg.com/wordpress/

I also piece together guitars from old parts I beg from people with money.

I lurk around the Project Guitar under the same userame and I know it's a stupid name. I like the Ben Kingsley movie by that name and it just doesn't translate, but I don't really care anymore.

Take care
Steve

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi! My name is Vassilis and I'm from Greece. Dealing with electric guitars' over 17 years now and I believe that Ibanez guitars are among the best for rock-metal
music. As an amature, I see that after 17 years of playing my tecnique level is about 3/10 (when top-pros like Vai or Satriani are definately 10/10). I'm very pleased with jemsite's content and want to offer my tiny litle experience to all that may need it.

...my English sucks huh?

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Your English is pretty good. ^

Hi, I'm Anthony and I've been playing or a year and a half now. I'm 14. I've owned a guitar since i was 11, but never took it seriously till last year. Personally I love playing guitar. It gets wierd sometimes. I'll be in class then have the sudden urge to sweep pick. Hell, thats what I want to do right now. I have yet to own a JEM, but I'm saving up. I might get the JEM20 when It comes out. That is if my mom gets a Guitar Center credit card.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Kyle from Arkansas. I'm mostly here for the Ibanez talk, mostly because I can't stop fantasizing about those pretty natural finish S Series guitars. Seriously, they keep me up at night, and I don't even own one yet.

I don't own a Jem either, but I would like to. I mostly play RG's, as well as a few different Jacksons, which I love just as much.

Anyway, thanks for having me!
