Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi, I'm Jamie.

I've been checking out this site for a few days now and I have a love for music and guitars so I decided to join.

I also have a bunch of Ibanez questions so I hope I can find some help and maybe help a couple of people myself.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello,All Im a long time reader of this site but only just joined up.I live in the Uk (coventry/London/Scotland are the main places i frequent)Ive been playing for just over two years now and this site has answered alot of questions for me over that time,I currently own and play an RG350ex with a blackbox installed(myself) and an RG1527 Prestige 7 String which i just put a Tremol-no into.I know i dont have any UV's Or Jem's but im taking my time really i feel unworthy of such an expensive instument and i do get along fine with what i have at the moment but a Couple of DNA's and Uv's would be nice - I plan to get into swirling some bodys if i have time and making some custom scratchplates etc using the labs at my Uni.I play and Listen to a wide range of music,It would be cool to find some people to play with locally.anyway im off to look at the galleries.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hello.

I'm a new member here.

Been playing guitar for about 10 years or so and just got my 1st Ibanez, an S470 in a light purple finish, a few days ago. I'm in the process of getting used to the guitar (I usually use heavier guitars with fatter necks) but I really like this so far.

The ZR bridge seems really good so far, so as soon as I can re-adjust oit to up the string gauge to 10's, I'll be happy

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

I have been playing electric guitar for 4 years now. I have three Ibanez guitars currently. I own a Jem 7 BSB, an RGT3020, and an MTM1. I have found this site to be a valuable resource.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi I'm Ton, from the Netherlands
I'm playing guitar for over 20 years. My first guitar was a Ibanez Blazer series with a fixed bridge (I should have never sold this guitar).
Currently I play mainly Gibson guitars but I want to buy an Ibanez again!
From the new series I like the RG2550Z, the white one!

Guitars:
Gibson LP Custom, Standard, Junior
Fender Tele USA

Amp:
Mesa Roadking top + Bogner 4x12" vintage 30's slanted cab.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi everyone. I'm from WV, but i Live in Germany currently. I have an '87 RG550 that I really like, and I'll probably get another Ibanez at some point. I also really like the 2550Z in white! I've been playing for about 10 years and singing for most of that. I enjoy playing and recording when I have the free time.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Okay, so I'm new here, but hardly new to guitars/guitar playing. My name's Matt, and I'm 34 (I'll be 35 in a few days). I live in Northern Virginia (about 15 minutes west of Washington DC) with my beautiful wife, our cat, and my guitars. I'm an IT professional by day, and I have a second career as a freelance journalist (mostly film-related), and I've been extensively published and I'm considered in some circles to be an expert in the field of horror movies (though that's not exactly something one tends to put on his resume).

Anyway, I've been playing guitar for approximately 25 years. I've been in numerous bands (mostly just goofing off and playing for the sheer pleasure of playing), but I have performed live several times; it's been quite a few years since then, though. My musical tastes and influences range from blues to metal, jazz, fusion, prog rock (including some relatively obscure european prog bands). My favorite players are probably (in no particular order) David Gilmour, Steve Vai, Page, EVH, Satch, Trevor Rabin, and just about anyone whom I deem capable of moving me on some emotional level with their playing.

I've gone through many guitars in my life, including several Kramers back in the '80's, and I even went through the obligatory "Strat-only, direct signal to amp" phase (which was useful on a certain level, but ultimately was even more embarrassing in retrospect than any number of bad hairdos and loud clothing during my halcyon hairband phase. So, I've been around the block stylistically, but I'm proud to say that I've been able to create, adapt, and maintain my own style of playing. I'm not saying I'm a phenomenal player or anything, but I'm not too shabby, and if nothing else, I can say that I sound like me no matter what guitar I happen to pick up and play...that's all that really mattered to me from the beginning. So enough of this idealist banter...

Currently, I actively play two Ibanez guitars; one is a 2007 RG370 with the black and silver/gray "tribal" graphic, and the other is a 2000 RG570GN (MIJ) in damned-near mint condition. The 570 is definitely my pride and joy between the two (for obvious reasons), but you won't hear me knocking the 370 by any stretch. Even though it's made in Indonesia and has an EdgeIII trem, it's not a bad guitar by any means. In fact, I love it. Sure, it doesn't hold a candle (insofar as overall workmanship and versatility) to the MIJ 570, but hey, it's a fine little axe, and frankly, I hate the fact that so many people knock the Edge III just because they read it on the 'net and think that's what they're supposed to do. Treat it right, and it'll treat you right.

Anyway, my current "large scale" amp is a Carvin SX200 (100w 2x12 solid state combo), which is probably one of the best amps I've ever owned, and yes, that's counting Marshalls and Fenders. Effects-wise, I've got a collection that would choke a horse, so I'm not going to bother writing them all down. However, I've recently supplemented my Dunlop Crybaby with a Bad Horsie (original version), just so I can get that variety of sound. Gotta admit...the switchless operation is staggeringly cool.

So, that's it...just saying hi. So, "Hi". Cheers.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi. I was going to post a question but it seems I can't yet. So I'll ask here.
Can I put more than 3 trem springs on the back of my rg1527? THere's 2 more holes but they're for holding that clamp thing on, so they're big and treaded, they look like a no go for putting springs in.
Thanks
