Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi, all.

I'm an old hacker who's played at the guitar for about 40 years with very little to show for it, but with 13 y.o. kid who's a little shredder who thought he'd died and gone to heaven when he met and got Paul Gilbert to sign his PGM100 last summer at NGW. He also has a JEM77Vand an S5470, but I digress.

Anyways, I'm hanging out here cuz I just picked up an older (1998 ) RG 250 DX (made in Korea) that someone pawned and didn't pick up - has had Evos put in the bridge and neck, it has a Rose licensed trem and a neck that is flat and virtually unworn. The previous owner tried to customize it - and I'm picking up where he left off, fixing his screwups and making it a nice guitar for the kid.

So anyway, I'll be around, looking for advice on wiring and the like.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi! My name is Anna and I'm 13 years old. I'm spanish, and I'm still learning english but I can speak a little bit. I am a huge, huge fan of Steve Vai and I love JEMs so I decided to register. My father gave me his spanish guitar last christmas, so I've been playing guitar only for a few days, but I love it, and I really want to learn to play the guitar because it's my favourite instrument. I also play the piano. It's nice to meet you!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi all,

Just got myself an Ibanez GRG170DX with Laney P20 amp after 20 years of not playing. Thoroughly enjoying myself and considering getting a Pandora PX4D. Looking forward to getting to grips with this website.

Cheers all!

Hello from Quebec, Canada

Hi all, I'm trying to increase my post count to 10 as I can't put up a link to my new (used) Jem 7v! My name is Kelly Coughlin, I'm a guy, and am a guitar-a-holic. I recently purchased a used Jem 7v and wanted to post photos and get people's opinions as to authenticity, price, etc. I also have a Les Paul Standard, Fender Telecaster, Fender Strat, some cheap bass and another "mystery" Ibanez which I'd love to find out what it is. I live in small ski-town 10 kilometers from Ottawa, which is our capital (and also in the English province). I'm into home recording, have a pretty nice ProTools 8 LE setup with an M-Audio Project Mix I/O. I also use Native Instrument's Guitar Rig (3,4) and Maschine for drums. I also have a pretty cool Roland drum machine/guitar effects processor. Cheers all.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi everyone!

I've been browsing these forums for quite some time, but now i have decided to finally register in order to interact with the community.

My name is Afonso, I'm from portugal, I play the guitar but I think I'm a pretty slow learner, as i don't have much time to practice, and lack of pacience also, but that has changed now, and I'm willing to learn a lot more and improve my skills.

I Currently own an Ibanez S370 RRF, use a Korg AX300G pedalboard, and a Torque T50R amplifier(which sucks to be honest, it's really old).

Right now I intend to get a DIbox to play in the computer using guitar rig..

See you guys on the threads!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi y'all... I'm Semi aka Sarssipius on the web... I'm an Ibanez player (not a Jem though) for 6 years now, also bass and lap steel player. I also run a blog dedicated to musical instruments which is actually 95% about guitar...

I ran into Jem Site a few months ago while I was looking for information about Jem guitars (you don't say!!) and finally now after reading quite a bit, I think I wanna participate a lil' bit more...

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey there,
I'm new to these forums so go easy lol! I'm looking for a good quality Ibanez at a reasonable price (no more than 1K). I have an RG series at home that I got used about 15 years ago and I'm totally lost on what models are new and good from Ibanez these days. Any help would be great. For what it's worth I'm a fan of thin skinny necks. Thanks.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey
My name is Fabrizio, and I am from Roma, Italy.
My main guitars are an Ibanez RG 2550 Prestige and one Gilmour Strat (my next gift could be an ibanez with piezo pickup, a la Music Man Petrucci).
I play any kind of music from Prog to Blues to Rock to Metal and my rig is made with a Laney LC30 MKI (made in UK), ENGL 520 preamp and Peavey Classic 50/50 Poweramp with a BlackShark Cabinet with v30 (very nice!) and a Roland Microcube for the training sessions.
I've some pedals (Digitech whammy MK4, Rocktron Banshee2, Big Muff, Ibanez MT10, Ibanez JEMINI ...) and some rack stuff (Boss GX700 - Alesis Quadraverb Q2, Rocktron Intellifex) and thats all.
I love Steve Vai music and actually love JEM guitars.
Jemsite it's a resourceful place.
Nice to meet you all!
Fabrizio
