HI! I'm Valerie. I've been playing guitar for 32 years and teaching it for at least 25. I'm currently in an 80's hair metal cover band and loving life. I own two RG750s, a Jem 555BK, a Jem 77FP (my workhorse) and Jem V777VDY that is a little slice of heaven in your hands.

So hello fellow addicts.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hey I have been playing guitar for about 5 years now and I know I will never stop until I die. I spend a lot of money on my guitars and I don't regret anything.
I own a John Petrucci 6 Music Man(my favorite ), a Gibson Flying V and an Ibanez RG370DX which I am currently modifying.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

I'm Joey from North East Tennessee.
My Ibanez story goes like this... I purchased a 1987 RG550 for $50 a couple of years ago. An earlier owner had stripped the Flare Red paint off (probably because of road wear or abuse) and stained it instead. A subsequent owner put about 60 stickers all over it! It had no strings so the Floyd Rose was loose in the box and needed springs and whammy bar. The 5-way switch was replaced with a 3-way and the middle pickup removed. I got the stickers off, replaced the middle pickup, installed a 5-way, put on a set of .009s, installed new springs & a Trim Setter and whammy bar and bought a gig bag for it. I was told that this guitar had been through every metal band in Unicoi County so it's has a lot of character and actual road wear (not relic'd). It's a GREAT guitar and plays and sounds GREAT!!
I also bought an used Ibanez Artwood AW100 Acoustic for $100 (barely played) several years back that I play often.
I also own a Telecaster, a Stratocaster, a Peavey TL5 bass guitar, a Guild 12-string acoustic, among other oddities!
My amp is a Crate Palomino V32 for electric and an old 1967-ish Peavey 200 watt bass amp with 18" reverse reflex cabinet!
Life is GOOOOD!

Hi my name is Dave,

I am new to your site, this being my first post. I have only one Ibanez so far and it is a 2001 rg570 in sour apple sparkle. I am looking for a rg6cst and some information on them and the colors they came in. Thank you for all of your help.

Sincerely,
David

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi I'm halmyar from France.

I play guitar for 17 years. I have several guitars : one Ibanez RG 550LTDBK from the 90's and french guitars (LAG). I love Dimarzio pickups and I'm searching for any infos about this stuff. I'm playing jazz, blues, rock, hard, metal etc... I'm already enjoying this site for many years and now that I'm a registred member I hope this pleasure will continue for a long time.

Thanks a lot for your work that we can read and hear all around the world.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.

Hi! I'm Mike, been playing about 25 years - since I was 15. Playing has just been a stress-reliever & hobby for probably the last 10 years, but I was asked to join a friend's band about 18 months ago & now I've contracted GAS again (had 22 guitars at one point ). Had a few Ibbys over the years, but found this site a few years ago while digging around for info on a "bag of parts" guitar I picked-up for $50. A friend had his room-mate skip out on him & asked if I wanted to buy this guitar that the room-mate left behind. I've been an ESP guy (currently have 4 of them) for years & just didn't know much about Ibbys (except that the 1981 Destroyer that I used to have was one of the best guitars EVER & I should never have sold it). Unimpressed by the silver guitar in a trash bag & expecting a warped neck, dire need for a fret-job, cheapo LFR, etc., I offered him $50 & thought I'd have a cheap guitar with a Floyd (all my others at that point were fixed-bridge. I got burned-out on the whammy thing in the 80s) for noodling around on & not have to worry about the finish & stuff (this thing is beat-to-hell). So, I slapped it together, rewired everything, and was instantly amazed with the playability . Wondering just what "prestige" was all about, I went on a hunt for info and a few missing parts & landed here. Found out it's a 2002 RG1570, what the "F" in the serial signifies, what an Edge-Pro is, spent $17 on parts, and fell in love with Ibbys. Now I also have a 1999 RG7620VK, and plan on buying my old Destroyer back (or another just like it), and I really want a puzzle-top & probably another RG of some sort (as long as it's blue. Somehow, I've never owned a blue guitar in almost 25 years of playing LOL). I've lurked here on & off for the past few years & finally thought to introduce myself...so "HI!"
