Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hello my name is Derrick. I live in Canada and I have quite a few Ibanez guitars. Have a boat load of other makes as well. About 23 I think, down from 30.
Some of the more notable ones are a 72/73 Les Paul Cherry Sunburst Standard, 1962 re-issue
Fender Strat
mid-90's, 1988 Fender Malmsteen Custom, 1992
Paul Gilbert
PG1000 with the pink F holes, 2 late 80's JEM Desert Sun Yellow (one with disappearing pyramids on a maple neck and one floral) and a 95 Universe Green Multi-color. Chavels and a whole mess of stuff.
There's a ton of other things here, looks like a box of smarties in my place.
Why I registered was because 4 years ago, someone was looking for something I have and wanted to just post some pictures for everyone to enjoy.
So Hello to all and I'll do my post with the pictures and stir the pot a bit and maybe get people talking about cool things.. not like you all don't already.
Alright, maybe talk about other cool things.
Have a great day to everybody!!!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
have you tried the
mesa boogie
express 5:25 or the 5:50? I like the 5:25 1x12, but you can get 1x10s in them. The options they have on them work great for me. I play a lot of different venues every month, we're at a casino this week, but normally were playing bars and nightclubs. the boogie's 5watts or 25watts covers a lot of ground for a small
combo amp
.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hey I'm Adam. I play in Wisconsin in a cover band called SPIN. We play stuff as old as Jefferson Airplane to this years grammy winners. We've played large venues like Packer games to Summerfest, we play many bars and nightclubs in between the "big gigs". we're at a casino this week. Normally, we play 2 90min sets, which covers about 56 songs a night. We use in ears, and low stage volume.
This is what I use:
Jem7vwh with a ESP arming adjuster, or a
Les Paul
. (I'm spoiled with these 2 great guitars)
Here is my chain
startouch a/b box
a (goes to a Podx3 live programed to the show, each songs has it's own patch), this is sent direct to the board and 1 line is also sent to a kustom 1x10 amp.
b) goes to
boss/keeley blues driver
keeley compressor
ibanez/keeley tubescreamer
boss/keeley DS-1 Ultra
Ernie Ball
Vol (tuner out to a Korg tuner)
Mesa Boogie 5:25 express (this amp is mic'd)
effects loop with
Ibanez DE7 (delay)
Uni-Vibe
Dunlop Adamas Graphite picks (I've been told I have the last 25 of these great picks)
Dunlop Gator 1.5mm
Redbear Trading Co Medium Classic
other guitars that I don't bring out are a sweet Ibanez 1970's bass. It's a Rickenbocker copy. It's been thru alot, but it still looks good, and plays good.
I also have a 1977 Gibson RD Artist. This is a really interesting guitar with handmade Moog circuitry for compression and expansion.
I'm thinking of adding a noise gate to the analog pedals, does anyone have any suggestions?
Well, that's me! Thanks Jemsite!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
hi, my name is jasper. currenty in dubai, uae. I recently bought a S470 guitar, my first ibanez, and first time to deal with the zr trem. I've pretty much not touched/adjusted anything as im afraid i'll mess up something and can't get it back to the original setup. Im looking forward to learn here how to setup my guitar with regards to the action, proper trem setup, pickup height, pickup pole piece adjustment. Nice to be a part of this forum

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hi everyone!! I live in Chile, in the very tip of South America... I've got a bunch of electric guitars, as well as my beloved classical and flamenco... but I've still got to get an ibanez for my collection and shred the hell out of it! Hopefully it's coming soon..

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
So I just joined...even though I've looked a few times. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and I've been
playing guitar
for ten years, and piano for ten before that. I've gotten quite the collection of guitars now, 13 all told. 2 Ibanez, both SA series, an SAS36 and an SAS32. Couple effects, Boss GT-10, and Ibanez DS-7 distortion. Anyway, thanks, and happy shredding.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hi, I just signed up and I am currently playing a PRS CE-22 and a 1990 Ibanez 540S thru a Hughes and Kettner 20th anniversary edition tube with a pedalboard full of toys and stuff. I gig twice a week with about a month off per year. Been playing for 28 years.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
New to the site, even though I've been snooping around it for years and definitely not new to Ibanez as I have had somewhere in the range of 15-20 in the past(lost count). My current collection includes an RG1527RB, RG2610E and as of lately a DN500 Darkstone. My non Ibanez's include
a
Michael Kelly Vex Deluxe
, Ovation Celebrity CS257
, and a Washburn WV 66GT.

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hello everyone
My name is Randy aka Firewaterjem from Manila Philippines...
A fulltime guitarist and really into using Ibanez particularly RGs and JEMs.
Started playing since 1990 in a thrashmetal band, evolved from thrash metal to rock and fusion guitar intrumentals, grunge, new age metal to my personal preferences but in my work in a variety band i mostly play RnB, Pop, classic rock, alternative, dance music(the usual top 40s)
Just started my collection...
Ibanez RG570 blue
flamed maple
Ibanez JEM777VBK 1990
Ibanez USRG30TG 1995
(just got the USRG a few days ago from Mr Doug Kluth)
former guitars i let go...
a red Yamaha RGZ
a black standard Fernandez Japan 24F H-S-S config
Fender 57 reissue Japan black with Gold Lace Sensors
main setup is a BOSS GT8 and a BOSS Vwah bringing it everywhere i go
BOSS ME70
Korg AX30G
Zoom 505
BOSS stomp boxes-dd3, chorus, flanger, ds1 and metalzone.
no cabinets or big amps.
(neighbors won't allow it in the apartment)
only have 2 15watt practice amps and my pc speakers.
This website is really great
Loads of info about
Ibanez guitars
which i'm really crazy about.
Thanks so much and more power to everyone

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hello, I've been making guitars for about 20 years. I make Chravels, Strats, Teles and Washburn N4s. I've just recently made a few N4 necks. I will be doing Jems pretty soon.

hi...diz is me...
hi evryone, i'm nuna vaiwira
my equipment was:
vaiwira guitar nuna series,
which is
maple neck
with a
mahogany body
.
it only 22,5 scale length, coz my small asian hand's too bad for playing a standard guitar.
i have a sunflower painted by my daughter n wife, and its beautiful.
i use a small string, 008-040.
i call the sound of nuna series as "orange" sound since EVH called his sound a "brown". ahaha.
my pedal was Boss ME 50, and i use vaiwira amplifications.
all of my equipment, sound sample, etc will be posted soon. i guaranteed, its unique and beautiful.
thanks to alan...

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
I'm Jon, I've been on the Kramer forums for a bit and just been lurking here a little...until i got bitten by the Ibby bug thanks to my friend Mark and more recently, the Jem design contest. I'm primarily a rhythm player (not even the best one at that, but enough to get by) but I like "shredder" guitars because I like having a Floyd handy and I think they're a little easier to play due to the fast necks and action. And I need all the help I can get, LOL...
I've owned Jacksons, Kramers, a Fender, an Epiphone, and an LTD in the past and currently play an ESP M-III and have a Washburn 333 that was an impulse buy. As I've bought and sold guitars, I've gradually moved up to the higher end stuff---this ESP is the nicest axe I've had so far. So it stands to reason that at some point I'll eventually own a real Jem...
So here I am, to learn as much as I can and see some cool guitars...and chat with y'all about 'em too! Looking forward to making more than this one post...LOL...I see a lot of folks joined, then vanished! Not me!

Re: New members - introduce yourself here.
Hi I'm Andy from the sunny Isle of Man!
Currently using a JS6000 (very proud of that one!) and aJEM 7V WH.
Desperately seeking someone to sell me their RG20th!!!! Any considered-let me know as main reason for registering.
Also needing advice on a decent amp-been let down so many times when recommended amps but I just want something decent for home jamming use to maybe small gigs.
Nice to be here
