Steve Vai Slide Holder (Question)!

Ok does anyone know what Steve Vai is using as his slide holder on the back of the headstock on his Jem (Evo III i think) I cant find anything besides a mic stand slide holder and a slide holder called the slide fly which isnt what steve uses... if anyone knows plz feel free to post and DONT say "velcro"last time i checked glass/metal slides dont stick to velcro

Why wouldn't Velcro work? Sticky back Velcro with one piece stuck to the guitar and one piece to the slide. glass/metal doesn't have to stick to Velcro. Velcro will stick to Velcro.

well first steve has no velcro on his slide second if you put anything on a glass slide it will interfere with the strings and/or anything on the slide itself will damper tone resonance of slide.

no it wont, just dont use the side that has velcro on it on the strings.

"Siro Vai - Hi, this is Steve. In order to put the slide someplace while I play the melody, I put a little piece of velcro on the slide and then a piece on the back of the neck. Then when I need to loose the slide I slam it in place on the back of the neck. It's also very easy to retrieve it for the choruses. I love Velcro!"

I heard of someone putting a magnet on the headstock. Idk if they glued it or what.
