OK, i'll post here leaving room to speculate on what Ibanez is going to be showing at Summer NAMM 2003 next month.

One retro model is from Japan w/ a mahogany body, set neck w/ binding, parallelogram inlays, 2vol/2tone controls apparently priced right at $699

Another retro model is available in Japan now and will be brought back in limited numbers.

still no luck on reverting back to the old Edge studs/anchors.

I'll edit the post in a few days (weeks?) with more specifics, unless someone wants to let the cat out of the bag. LOL.... glen

No rumblings of the Mirror Jem being unveiled at Summer NAMM? Any word on the future of the VSBL? I have a feeling it won't be around for as long as the VWH...

FLORAL PATTERN JEM

I just got a call from my Hoshino rep. Ibanez is doing a very limited run of JEM Floral Pattern guitars for summer NAMM. I told him to get me as many as he could, which if I'm lucky will amount to 2-3 pieces. That's alot considering that the entire New England area is only getting 4 pieces. I don't have any pricing information as of yet.

I love how when they decide to bring in a batch they spout that normal rep crap about limited runs, they never stopped making the things. Japan always has them in stock, France got a batch earlier this year, and I've got 24 coming

The import numbers I have is 100-ish from Hoshino and 25-ish from Chesbro, tentatively each w/ a Vai signed plate/cover. I suggested Ibanez do a bit more "personalization" for each one, and of course this is all speculation .. glen

Well... No matter what you want to call it, this model hasn't been offered to the USA market in a couple years. Now it's available through the American Ibanez distributors on a limited basis. Is that better stated?

Through Hoshino, Chesbro has brought quite a few in while Hoshino wouldn't touch them

The whole Chesbro/Hoshino thing is just plain wierd. There should either be one USA distibutor or both Hoshino and Chesbro should have the same products with the same set of rules for their dealers.
