Re: What Guitar Strings do you use?

Daddario 9-42 on all my guitars (EBMM JP, Jem, RG, RG7)

I find they last a lot longer with trem abuse compared to the Super Slinkeys i used to use, they dont corrode or go black as quickly either.

Re: What Guitar Strings do you use?

D'Addario XL 9-42's.... Used em for years. Buy the "Bluk Shop" if you have a lot of guitars. Then there like $2.40 a set

i use the same on my Floyd style guitars and D'Addario 10's on fixed bridge guitars.
MF sent me an email w/ 30% off strings so i bought the 25pk Bulk Set (.009-.042) and a 10pk of .010-.046 and one pack of acoustic strings for a total price of around $61 (i got free shipping, two free Dunlop straps and a free string winder drill bit) so that got my price down to around $1.69 a pack!! i'm set on strings for at least 3-4 months but i should have bought twice that amount of strings at those prices - most stores pay around $3 a set at their cost. timing IS everything.
i sometimes buy EB strings (10's only) but they seem to corrode faster for me than the D'Addario's do for some reason.
i try a different brand of acoustics everytime i need a new set as i don't change those but every 6 mos. my acoustic lives in my teaching studio so it doesn't get as much play and as hard of play as my electrics.

Re: What Guitar Strings do you use?

I have several guitars, most outfitted with different strings. My electric guitars all have ernie ball super slinky 9-42s, i have a backpacker acoustic with fender super bullets 9-42, an acoustic with ernie ball acoustic strings and a semi acoustic with ernie ball regular slinky 10-48. different strings suit different types of guitar as well as different styles of playing.

Re: What Guitar Strings do you use?

I started with .09s, and them went to .10s, and now i use Ernie Ball .11s I'm still experimenting with the different kinds, and i may switch to .12s , but i dont know about a wound G.

Heavy strings give so much fuller tone, and dont require as much distortion. Also, they really strengthen your fingers. I think too many people go to great lengths to get a full, screaming, chunky sound, when they could just change strings.
