What Guitar Strings do you use?

D'Addario 0.09 - 0.42 or D'Addario 0.10 - 0.46

In the late 60's or early 70's, I used Ernie Balls, 8-38. I used those for many years. In the 80's, I switched to 9-42, usually Ernie Ball or D'Addario. I've tried various brands over the years. I'm slowly changing all my Ibanez 6-strings to Blue Steel 10-46 and the Universes to 10-54. I'm kinda limited to the brands for 7-strings-it depends on what the store has. I've tried D'Addario and Ernie Ball. I'm partial to Blue Steels in general.
10's do take a little while for your fingers to get used to. The reasons I'm going from 9's to 10's is I've heard that they're a bit louder, sound better, stay in tune better and intonate better. I'm also looking forward to not having to worry so much about breaking one in a bend or if I do something crazy with the vibrato bar.

I've been thought them all in the last 32 years (started playing between age 5-6) and for the last few years, I've used DR Black Beauties six and seven string sets in the 9's. Before that I used Elixiir for about a year and before that it was Dean Markely Blue Steels for maybe 10 years.

Im a D'Addario guy now, tried some today on the wolf, and they sound and feel brilliant.

I know most people here use 9's, but I've always loved heavier strings - right now I'm using a set of Zakk Wylde GHS that are 10-60 (yeah they're crazy - The A string is a .52. They just sound sweet and you can still play crazy licks on the higher strings.

I just tried Snake Oil 10's on my Strat and I must say they're really cool strings. They live up to the hype but they are a little darker sounding than the typical GHS or D'Addario. I want to try a set on my Jem as I often feel it sounds too bright.

I like D'addarios but they have gotten a bit pricier so I got me some GHS for much cheaper!

I use D'addario's XL120 009-042 for my RGs, Fender and Charvel,
XL110 010-046 for my 'S' and Dean Markley LT 009-042,054 for my UV777.
