Can't beat the D'Addario 09-42. The worst I ever tried was GHS Boomers. Never again!

I always use D'Addario XL120's (9-42). I have tried most other strings (Ernie Ball, DR's, Rotosound, GHS Boomer's, Dean Markley, fender etc.) and in my humble opinion D'Addario are the most versitlie.

I use Dean Markley Blue Steel´s, there not the cheapest strings out there but they sound great and last if they are looked after.

Go and buy one set of every make of strings you can find and try them all. Then you definitely will know which ones you like best

Has anyone tried elixir strings? Are they worth their $14 price tag?

Mostly Dean Markley .009-.042, more and more Pyramid .009-.042 and whatever is cheap for the acoustics. On my 7-strings, I have an additional D'Angelico .054 or .056.

On my six (not THAT six ) I use D'addario 10-46, with a 56 on my seven.

I have been gettin' an itch to try out the Dean Markley Blue Steels.

I use Dean Markley Blue Steel, custom light gauge (9-46, I think)... They last forever and they don't become dull as fast as the other ones...

D'addario 9-42 and a 54 for the B-string of my UV

collect the packets, send them back and they give lots of free stuff!

11s if I tune the guitar (a charvel in this case) down a whole step then you get a huge tone.

I like Elixirs. *They cost 3x as much, but last 3 times as long. *They don't sound as bright RIGHT when you put them on - they sound like strings that are a couple days old. *But they sound like that for a few months. *They're also kinda "slippery" - you gotta feel them to understand. *Less finger noise, too.

People seem to either love 'em or hate 'em. *I love 'em.
