A Glimpse In to the Future?

This is what it could be like, ordering a pizza in the future. Scary.

Hmmm I don't think so. I know PC etc is everywhere but the only thing that I could see catching on would be that personal ID number.

Lol at first I thought it was Windows RG.....

Re: A Glimpse In to the Future?

Very unlikely, too, much of a waste of time and money to collect and check that sort of information.

I think people are less scared of that happening then they are of the realization that companies and the government simply don't care enough to bother trying to collect all their precious personal information. Some of it is useful, but mostly on a very superficial sense (mainly just to target advertising).

As if something like that would be in place in a Pizza Hut or whatever, and yet this guy would never have heard of it before It would have been in their commercials!

But I admit, I am intrigued by the apparent psychotically fast internet speed at Pizza Palace or whatever in the future. They got this guy's info out of 300 Million + other records in what, .5 seconds? At that speed he could download a terabyte of new porn into his new Apple cellphone/camera/GPS/laser surgery kit/iPorn viewer before he gets home to his waiting pizza

Re: A Glimpse In to the Future?

I didn't actually think that this will happen, but I could see parts of it being true. Such as looking at the area you live in and charging more, or charging more for so called unhealthy food. (there has already been talks of a junk food tax).
Who what have thought 20 years ago you order pizza online, or that they can know who you are just with the caller ID. I think this was just made to make you think of the possibilities.

Re: A Glimpse In to the Future?

yeah the first time they didn't ask for my address I was a wee bit freaked out.

Then I relized there wasn't much they could really do with that information.

Either way yeah that won't happen (well maybe with the credit card business)

Funny as hell, but I don't think the average kid working at a Pizza place could do all that.

- wha?? You can actually order P-Pie on line??? What is this the Jetsons or something???

Hmmmmm......I would try it, but the possibilities that I may contract a "cheezy virus" are just too great so I think I'll stick to me trusty old rotary phone!! It's never failed me in times of need. The only downfall of having such a reliable piece of equipment is that I continually have all these strange folks showing up at my door claiming to be my friend and wanting to use my phone cuz they are out of minutes or their super cell phones just plumb cannot find signal space availability to place a call.

One vote here for ~Anti-Tech~

BTW - my home address is "third tree from the second tree after the big maple on the left
