A tip i want to share to college bound students

Well i can say that my college experience is limited so far . I am only taking two classes, i am still in high school though . Anyways one thing i have learned that i'd like to share with all of you, is that college english or really any english class for that matter encourages you to lie . I just wrote 3 pages of total BS about my back yard. Yes the topic i was given was to write about my backyard.

Lying will get you a lot better grades. I think it is sad but it is really very true. I think anyone else that is or has been through college will say the same thing.

So lie away on your papers, dont be too far out there but my point is your teacher will never know the difference. It isn't like they know everthing about you .

Lying, cheating, it all flies as far as I saw. And you will get a better grade. I don't know about higher up composition classes, I think it might be ackward to cheat, but throughout engineering, especially electrical eng, I saw a lot of cheating. You'd find maybe half to three quarters of your class in front of the homework boxes copying problem sets. It's a problem that piles up though: almost everyone is able to complete the work and do well (because they didn't actually do the work), so they assign harder work and it becomes nearly impossible to actually honestly complete anything.

Just try and tell someone you got a worse grade because you were honest, though-- they'll just say you're bitter. After a while, you learn the lesson: just grin, and BS.

That's just sad but true about the engineering classes. That's one of reasons I got out of them. But as for english composition, the only way that I can think of to "cheat" would be to have someone else write your paper for you. As far as this lying thing, I don't know how much I believe that. Lying is such a dirty word to use when describing writing. It's more like embellishing with the intent of making the story more interesting. Think of it like a movie script to a movie that's "based on actual events" or "based on a true story." Sure you might add a few things here and there that didn't really happen but they make the story more interesting and they really could've happened.....in some alternate dimension where more interesting things happen in your backyard aside from the grass growing.

i get what your saying and it is a guess more of what i was trying to say. lying is sort of the wrong word but in essence it is what your doing if your not telling things like they are.

You guys are completely missing the point of education. The point of education is to make you aware of methods of solving problems. No one really cares if you remember formulae and stuff, what your teachers care about is whether or not you can solve actual problems and come up with new things once you graduate.

And this is what YOU should be focusing on. No one ever asked me about my GPA or how well I did in school. Job interviews will have tough problems in them, and if you don't know how to solve them, you won't do well and won't be hired.

This, of course, only applies to engineering.

Now that I am approaching the big 3-0 my advice to college bound students would be
A) Always wear a condom
B) No matter what she says, get a paternity test.
C) Beer and Pizza go well together

My advice for college students:

1) Don't be stupid. It's not cool, it's just stupid.
2) There's nothing wrong with doing the work and actually wanting to do something with your life.
3) Turn off your damn cellphone.
4) [sarcasm]STDs are like trophies to show how cool you are. Same with hangovers and regrets[/sarcasm]
5) Just f*cking think already. You probably slacked through high school (who didn't?) so your brain should be nice and relaxed and ready to work finally.

Specifically for the guys:

6) Women are not objects, stop treating them that way. Taking advantage of someone is not cool, it's disgusting. And I've got way too many stories I've heard from my classmates that just depress me to no end, because I know they're the mildest stories out there.

For the girls specifically:

7) Don't trust college guys that you meet in a bar. You don't need to prove yourself, there's no standards you need to live up to. Just be yourself, and realize sex isn't the answer to everything. You're worth more than just your body, gain some self-respect.

And one last one:

8) Everything in moderation, and be smart about it. Some things aren't good even in moderation. As a quick guide: alcohol = good in moderation (don't make yourself sick/dead), cocaine = bad no matter what (and yes, this is actually a problem I've seen in school).

Re: A tip i want to share to college bound students

hahahah slack my way through high school not this year. I have ap physics, an in 3 uil events, history, science, and current events. I am also in robotics and so i stay busy.

1. i have never been to a single party and dont intend to start now or for that matter anytime . I am very anti-social, and enjoy time to myself.

2. I do enjoy doing work that is of interest to me. The only time i cheat is when a teacher isn't able to teach the subject in a mannor that i understand . even then i make an effort to get as much help as possible before resorting to cheating.

3. Dont have a cell phone and dont want one.

4. I have been single for over 3 and half years. This one isn't a problem

5. ^^

6. the reason i have been single so long is because i am so picky. If a women can't have respect for herself then how am i suppose to have respect for her. I hate slutty chicks . yes i'd agree it is quite sickening .

i think drugs are the stupidest things in the world that includes alcohol and smoking, oh man i hate smokers . You bastards ruin everything.

college like anything is only what you make of it. It isn't that the work is hard, it acutally kind of fun. It challenges you to be creative and that is what i am getting at. Not being creative at cheating . The only not fun part is the level of correctness . Never before have been graded so hard for gramtical correctness, that is the part that sucks .
