Re: any golfers on jemsite ???

I used to work in the Belfry Pro shop and was looking at becoming a professional golfer I could play scratch golf then but now forget about it I don't have time I played a lot a few years ago and shot 3 and 4 over but I knew I could do better, you need to stand a hit balls all day and then get that short game down, forget hitting it 350, make 3 from 150 all day long and you'll be scratch golfing again. The short game is where it's at unless you long game is terrible. When I came back I was three putting loads of greens that was where all my shots were going my iron and my driver were great, I would love the time to go back and have my time again, I would have stuck at it. I would much rather be in the middle of a quiet country setting than up to my ass in toxic chemicals and cover from head to toe in dust wearing a ventilator, I was in my unit the other year and I stopped dead in my tracks white from head to toe in Primer dust sweating my potatoes off and I asked myself "How the f**k did I get here? What went wrong" and then I remembered Lennon saying life is what happen when your busy making plans.

Re: any golfers on jemsite ???

Damn Al, if i was that good id never have given up. Don't you miss the course? No time for a round now and again? Im like a heroin addict with golf these days, and im absolutely terrible. Never understand ppl who get really good at something then just give it up, then again never really been in that situation myself. Then again al, if you didnt give up golf i wouldn't have your gorgeous swirl sitting my house now would i! So well played.

Being a good reasonable level at golf seems like a handy 'skill' to have. Great for socialising, great when theres nothing else to do, theres always a golf course somewhere, and great if youve just got a new job coz your guaranteed there will be golfers at your workplace.

You're right about the short game al, ive spent the last 4 months working on my 100 yard to 200 yard shots. Putting, pitching and chipping really hasn't had a look in. But my scorecard is being wrecked by 3,4 putts on the green. Or my classic is when i chip the ball too hard over to the other side of the green, then chip it back even further to the other side! Doh. Im really addicted though, i can't see myself giving up anytime soon.

And im really shocking at it!

I really wanted to be a tour player, I was never that good I guy I used to play with who was given the job of managing the golf complex was amazing he played off plus 3 and was a monster hit he used to play amateur tour in the US and gave it up to work in a hotel? That kinda kicked the crap out of my delusions of being a tour player, maybe I should have tried harder but I didn't maybe that says something about me I hope not.

I was out bit ago.

Shot a 62 on a 9 hole...I'm not that great, but that's pretty good for me.

Re: any golfers on jemsite ???

I play an executive course with an old friend and his brother. Par 62 but very tight sight lines with small greens, and if you miss the green the lies are terrible. Couldn't control the hook on my short irons on the back 9 [started on 10] so went 9 over, but shot 1 over on the front for a 72.

Last week was the first time me and my regular broke 90 on the same day. We've both done it plenty, but never both on the same day. We tied at 89

We don't gamble.
It's all about having fun, and, maybe some bragging rights

Fairest and purest way - i can never keep track of bets during a round; got my work cut out keeping that little white *$£* out of the jungle.

Best bit of a win was always the name on a trophy - been a loooong time though

Shot 40 on the front, 46 on the back. Seems everytime I get a decent front I can't keep it through the back ;/
