any serious high end star wars collectors here?
I'm not talking the run of the mill "yeah I've got some toys from when I was a kid" or "I keep up with all the latest releases and buy 2 of everything, one to "not" play with, (honest), and one to keep boxed", I mean really rare like vintage toys that make a DNA Jem look cheap and cheerful,
prototype
toys, unproduced stuff, ltd editions (1000 or less), even genuine movie props or extremely rare autographs ?
If so, cough up a picture of at least 1 item that is your holy grail collection piece, or just tell me/us about it, and we'll believe you, honest!
I guess I should add a "nerd alert" to this thread, but if this doesn't inspire any posts, then just go take a look at my POTF2 to date prototype test shot collection from over the years.

Or just "yak" about rare SW stuff!

Re: any serious high end star wars collectors here?
i'm a huge star wars fan, movies 4-6, and ep3 was alright. i'm not a nerd for it, don't go to conferences, etc, whatever. i do have a movie accurate vader costume as well as stormtrooper suit. odds and ends stuff. i have a comlink that was supposedly used in ep4, a prop, who knows for sure. that's about it. i would like to get one of the vader saber replicas on the mount. i think they only made 200? it sounds funny to say i would like to get a couple mannequins to dress up in the vader and trooper to put downstairs in the studio. i have some trooper busts and speederbiker model, limited run, in my studio as well.

I have a rare animated depiction of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas having sex with a storm trooper. Well, maybe not so rare, as it was on South Park.

So DJR, so far the answer to your question appears to be "no."
You sure brought back a lot of memories, though. I was seven when the first movie came out and I had all the toys.

Re: any serious high end star wars collectors here?
I'm a Star Wars nerd. I listen to the force-cast I have a tiny collection I read the expanded universe novels. I loved the movies 1-6. I watch the ne CLone Wars series on cartoon netwrok every week. And all else. I'm not into collecting as much as a normal Star Wars nerd would be for two reasons. My passion for guitar playing and GAS exceeds my Star Wars nerdiness and my budget is small for that sort of thing. I usually collect ship models, books and comics so nothing high end there. I was always more into just being able to get into the story rather than collecting things.

My friends keep telling me that if I was in the Star Wars Universe I would be a Sith Lord and I keep telling them that I would be a Jedi Knight, it really hurts my feelings

My friends keep telling me that if I play a bright pink guitar with green piclups I'd look like a g@y, but i keep saying it's cool and unique. It hurts my feelings.
Everyone has an inner nerd. And people with brightly colored guitars and swirl paint schemes exhibit one of those inner nerds.

Re: any serious high end star wars collectors here?
kinda funny... my affliction for brightly colored guitars is matched by my enthusiasm for rare prototype toys, especially prototype test shots that get shot in wild colors (they use whatever plastic bead stock is in production at the time when testing moulds). Outside of playing guitar for a living, I've always had a little business running on the side dealing with exactly this type of thing....
"PMC" Vader, anybody? :P
or how about a "DY" Leia in Boushh disguise?
You'd be amazed how many guitarist I have met over the years that are into this kind of thing, hence my intrigue here, albeit not quite a success here. More often than not, they are wild color guitar players, especially Jems.

Same generation... and I figured the answer would be "no" when the "yak" gag was totally unappreciated lol
How many Jems for a
Yak?

I once owned Chewy for a short time - but he broke the chain in the back yard and jumped over the fence.
At least I don't have to shovel the back yard anymore.
Jus Kiddin ya - but please tell me what denotes a "Serious High End" Star Wars collector?
