In the UK we had a kids TV show called Rainbow. Even if you didn't watch it, everyone knew who the characters were.

How the hell did they get away with this? At first I thought the voices were overdubbed, but check out the human's lips! Surely this must've been right at the end before it got cancelled?

I've heard that there were more 'adult' episodes. Apparently the cast and crew used to throw them in occasionally to entertain the 'grown ups' and themselves. whether they exist in a vault or not is speculation.

Thing is, the age i would've been meant i was too young to know sexual innuendo so would've thought it was innocent if i saw it

That's an urban myth, perpetuated by the Sun newspaper until the original writer for Pugwash successfully sued them for it.

The Rainbow team are famous for their more adult out takes - something to do with the quantities of dubious substances they are alleged to have had in the studios!

I grew up in NYC and I've seen this clip 50 times over the years I don't think this actually aired, but was done for a Christmas cast party or something like that. I don't know though.

Too funny.
I remember my nephews watching Pee-Wee Herman and catching some sexual innuendos in that show. Who could forget the scene in The Lion King where it spells out the word sex too.
Guess its a common thing in kids shows.
