Bed Bugs! (HEELLLPPP)

I've got a serious problem (well other than my obvious mental situation)

We have aquired bed bugs! I've resided in Colorado pretty my whole life and they arent prevolent here. In fact I didn't even know they really existed other than the "good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" saying that mom tucked you in with.

Well I found out differently! My roomy took a trip down to Georgia and came back with the nasty little f'ers!! And I DO mean NASTY!!! If it wasn't for the fact that he's my freind and my bass player, I'd have him put in front of a firing squad!! Or at least tortured for the bites I have received and the expensive loss of furniture.

They've spead very rapidly and I've already trashed my bed, his bed and half the furnture in the house! What a drag!! (very costly drag)

I've been on the net checking and there are plenty of after market products, but in reading the comments it appears the most of them are ineffective. And I really don't want to spray a bunch of chemicals around my house anyhow. Especially if they are ineffective. Exterminaters = same deal. Chemicals sprayed in your house. Coming from a family of holistic freaks, chemicals and I do not mix!!

Soo........being this is a world wide site I thought I'd ask if any of you have dealt with them and what you did to get rid of them??

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks

I haven't dealt with them, but I would get professionals in that place pronto. No waiting, I'd get an exterminator this morning.

Re: Bed Bugs! (HEELLLPPP)

Many hotels and motels are combating an outbreak of bed bugs all the way from your mom and pop joint to major hotel chains. I go along with Jim..... call the exterminator. It's probably going to take several treatments though.

Plus there's something I don't quite understand..... you won't spray chemicals around your house but yet you'll ingest or have ingested them in the past??? No offense..... but the belief systems of some people never cease to amaze!

Naw.....no chemicals ingested, Mikey! (at least no man-made chemicals )

Sorry for TMI Jemaholic, but I just thought I'd expain the situation. That was actually very shortened version

The thing is with these is that they get into EVERYTHING and are in everything. Orkin wants 450-500 just to come in the first time and how can they spray every item in the house?? Every box in the closet, every piece of clothing in dressers, etc??

Just hoping someone here has dealt with these NASTY critters before and can give some insight!!??!?!

I've heard that a 50/50 ratio of cat piss and mayonnaise does the trick

Re: Bed Bugs! (HEELLLPPP)

Jim, there's a whole lot of information on treatment of bed bugs on Wikipedia.
