OSX seems to come as close as you can get, but then again, it kind of coddles too, doesn't it?

Re: Best Anti-virus software?

Free AVG is very good (esp for the money!) and the AVG rootkit revealer does wonders that Nod32 simply could not do! Kaspersky found trojans on a PC that Nod32 missed. Norton - way too heavy. Results are from my works 2000+ PC network.

Re: Best Anti-virus software?

Another happy AVG user here. Have used it now for years and have never had a reason to change. It'e free, easy to use, stays in the background nice and quietly, updates regularly, protects well. I wouldn't use anything else.

Plus One....haven't used AV in years. I recently took off AVG from my computer, too. It's great but I need as much CPU as I can get. I swear by Ad-Aware Personal....finds bugs and kills 'em dead.

Sometimes I use Spybot sometimes seems to find what the other missed.

Both are free!!

Re: Best Anti-virus software?

I'm looking for something that will also let me scan network drives. Any recommendations?
