Best way to ship a DNA to Greece.

the package is 105cm in height and length and the width is 43cm, now I just phoned DHL and they quoted me with full insurance upto £5000 it would cost £618, can that be right?

Sounds like "Highway Robbery" to me

Customs charges are a just an excuse to snag $ and half of which ends up in the wrong pockets

I don't think there are customs charges from within the EU to within the EU Jim, I may be wrong. But yeah, that sounds high but not unlikely. I had to wait for my UVMC for a month and a half until my friend traveled to England and was nice enough to hand carry it back for me. Saved me a fistful of money.

There is no Customs charges for EU to within the EU shipping, Anyways, I sorted it out now, Parcelforce are coming to pick the DNA up tomorrow.

There is no customs or anything inside the EU.

You would want to try EMS (Express Mail Service) which you can do in any british port office.
Else consider parcelforce: http://www.parcelforce.com/portal/pw
With them you should be down to about 90 pounds if you want insurance and tracking or about 50 if you ship without.

Trust me you do not want ryanair to transport your guitar in the cargo hold, they destroyed 2 of my samsonites... and they do not allow big items in the passenger cab...

Thanx to everybody here for lending an idea or two. A DNA is always a good subject for discussion whether a transportation or taken to the studio or even taken out of her case for a few more high resolution pics...

I originally planned the other week that if an EU buyer bought my DNA, I would personally delivery the DNA myself but my Passport has expired and Terry paid alot of money and I am quite he would not want to wait ages for the guitar to arrive.
