Blue Angels Jet Crashes
Apparently just happened:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18248797/
Still no word about the pilot's status, though.
PLEASE, don't use this thread to bash the US...

Re: Blue Angels Jet Crashes
Oh man that sucks
I love the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. My office building used to be out at a airport and I used to watch the angels and T-birds practice. What a rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE to fly an F-16 or 18 before it's all over
We used to get passes for the Airshows because we were on the property. A few years back a old koren style fighter didn't make it's loop and crashed. The guy was a veteran pilot 77 years old (at least he died doing what he loved)
It's just part of the risk of flying in an airshow and unfortunely it does happen
They don't allow the Air shows there anymore because he partially hit a building.
Anyhow.....hopefully the Angels pilot was able to eject safely and is okay.

Oh man!! I LOVE the Blue Angels!! The Air Show is something I look forward too every year. Ft. Lauderdale's Air show is coming in just 2 weeks and I've been dying with anticipation! I hope the pilot is okay. Man, that's terrible news.

That's terrible, but as Jim said, it comes with the territory.
Hope there weren't any more fatalities.

The pilot was killed.
Looks like he clipped a powerline or a pine tree.

Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, they're prime directive would be to show off what the best of the best can do, and to offer enticement for recruitment into that branch.

Because people come to see the shows. The Fort Lauderdale Air and Sea Show last year had 4 million people on a 2 mile stretch of beach on just the Saturday alone! And there are enrollment officers from all the military branches right there to sign people up. There is an underlying reason for it.

If we had nobody willing to fight for our freedom, we'd all be speaking German right now.

Re: Blue Angels Jet Crashes
Your probably thinking of France, we'd probably be speaking Japanese.
I tried to learn it once and it was pretty hard, so I doubt I'd be speaking at all. Some folks would like that.

I dont' know. Here in Florida we had German U boats right off our coast. They weren't just in Europe.
