buying reconditioned tools, worth it?

When businesses sell reconditioned tools or factory serviced tools, is it advisable or recommended to purchase those versus going brand new and paying the higher price.
Reconditioned are usually lower prices but are they really a safe way to go. Reconditioned and factory service probably mean that they had to fix the tool because of some malfunction. But you can get them for a cheaper price, which is nice when it comes to the expensive tools.

I need to buy a framing nailer and probably a transit level for some projects coming up, the prices for the reconditioned/factory serviced ones seem like a good buy, but can they be trusted for being reconditioned??

The way Gas prices are going up, I need to save as much money as possible.....everything is going up!! So maybe saving the money on the reconditioned tools might be a good idea.

What do you think???

What kind of warranty are they providing?
Framing nailer... you mean a Hammer?
Estwing makes great "Framing nailers"
You wanna save money, buy a good hammer once.
JK

Look at the guarantee on the product info.

The ones i'm looking at have the manufactures warranty, and 30 return policy. This company claims to inspect all tools being sold prior to shipping.
I think as long as they have this, it's ok ?
