Re: Camera trade question

cool ! Rotti, sell both 5D's? I don't think I could part with my mark II. The HD video is really nice to have and it's pretty sweet....it rivals at times what my expensive HD video cams do. Anyway, I will have to make the decision once I get the 1D mark II in my hands.
A 1DsMKIII ?! I'm crazy at times but not $7800 crazy

Oh, I didn't realize they were that expensive. That is a bit much.

2 cab rides across town and it's done. really nice huge loft studio, really nice guy, perfect location for some HD video work! anyway, the 1D mark II is mint, shoots really nice. i have to figure out how to work it. He was happy with my 50D. I got the box with his cam as well. i'm actually excited

Re: Camera trade question

nice. remember there's no green box (auto) mode on the 1D. LOL. My first outing with the 1DmkII was ~200 shots of moving kids with no more than a dozen throwaways. the body is almost idiotproof. remember you need a firewire connection to set personal functions (p.fns) no usb support for that purpose... glen

Re: Camera trade question

cool. i was lost at having to press the button down to toggle through views...weird. it shoots rapidly! one thing i didn't get... the guy said i have to get the feel of the rapid shooting. barely pressing it will result in only one shot...or else you will get many shots! what?! didn't he know you can set it for single shot?!?! maybe i misunderstood. or he misunderstood. there has to be single shot function.

what do you mean by firewire / no usb? i don't think i do that now. i don't set any special functions or anything....i just shoot. do you mean set custom functions? storing settings?

Re: Camera trade question

grab the PDF user guide. you can set high/fast & low/slow fps rate so for example flip from 8.5fps down to 5fps (or whatever you want that is a c.fn custom functions set on the camera via menu).

firewire is required to connect the pc to the body to set p.fn (personal functions set from canon eos utility) .. glen
