I have about a 45 min commute each way to work, so I have *plenty*
of time for car tunes! sometimes, I'll play the entire CD, other times, its one
song over and over. Recently, in the over'n'over dept, its been:
Kevin M Buck, "Astral Maze" : very melodic stuff, with shred overtones
Frank & Dweezil Zappa, "Sharleena": A lame excuse for a freakin amazing 15
year old "the Dweez" guitar solo over a 2 -chord vamp. I first heard this in
the late 80's on a little disc in Guitar Player mag. Still rocks
The Roches, "Hammond Song": Unbelievable harmonies, with Rob't Fripp on
guitar for some interesting backup
Paco de Lucia, "Zorongo Gitano": A beautiful Federico Garcia Lorca tune, with
Paco playing at his crystal-clear best
Cowboy Junkies, "Lay it Down": chilling, with a groove
Gillian Welch, "April the 14th, part 1": I have no idea what its about, yet
I keep coming back to it
Robin Trower, "Bridge of Sighs": signature Univibe, makes me want to take up
the evil weed again
JS "Always with me, always with you": sweet, melodic tapping riff

And that's just for starters, but I really need to stop now, or I'll be here
all night....
