Accountancy can lead to some very interesting lines of work.
I know a guy who was very talented and worked for PWC in London, he is now working for the UN and doing lots of 3rd World development stuff.
I always think of accountancy as being a more "applied" science and economics more theoretical.
I would also say this. If you are looking to have an exceptional
career, follow a path that you are truly passionate about, and that you have talent in. I don't know what your personal motivation is like, but you are more likely to get where you want to go if you are happy on the journey.
