Career/study advice..

Hey guys,

My goal is to get a job in corporate finance or funds management. I'm studying a bachelor's degree in commerce and was thinking of majoring in finance and economics. I really enjoy learning about both finance and economics. After doing some research it became apparent that it might be more valuable for me to have an accounting major to compliment finance. I don't enjoy accounting as much but don't necessarily hate it. Anyone have any words of wisdom / experience in this area?

Accountancy can lead to some very interesting lines of work.

I know a guy who was very talented and worked for PWC in London, he is now working for the UN and doing lots of 3rd World development stuff.

I always think of accountancy as being a more "applied" science and economics more theoretical.

I would also say this. If you are looking to have an exceptional career, follow a path that you are truly passionate about, and that you have talent in. I don't know what your personal motivation is like, but you are more likely to get where you want to go if you are happy on the journey.
