Hey, if you're lucky enough to be getting a paycheck in this economy so as to feed your family, and yet you walk through a shot of film ruining that work and don't get fired, taking some verbal abuse is all part of a days work!

I'm not an advocate for abusing grips, dp's, assistants or best boys, but if you still have a job at the end of the day...

Well I do agree that it's wrong to treat someone like that, but if you take a job working for a prick, you kind of have to expect it. It's so out there, that I couldn't believe it could actually be real!!!

The fact that he did that and it was recorded is just so stupid on his part...

What ever happened to the story about him freaking out on his Mom and sister when the last Batman movie came out? What a dick. Seems to like to pick on people "smaller" than himself. Always a nice quality in a person...

lol ..I'm having some rehearsal room flashbacks where I was equally an ass.... haha! bit of artistic-license venting... although I also know actors who do this kind of thing on set as a build up to a scene, and everybody takes part of the role-play... so I wouldn't be surprised if it was something along those lines, but hey... whatever. Bale gets some "badass" press out of it.

Sounds like he's a professional, and expects the same from others. I don't know how the acting business is like, but I would really hate if someone walked in the studio shouting during a recording. If they managed to do it twice, they need to hear it.

Crew don't work for the actors. Everybody is paid by the studio eg Warner Bros etc.

The DP is Director of Photography and is probably 3rd most important person on set as he is responsible for technically capturing the directors vision.He is in charge of the lighting crew as well.

Bale needed to have a word with him either in private or tell him off ONCE. He humiliated the guy in front of everyone and did not stop. In fact, he got more and more worked up and was overly abusive.

He's got serious issues. Nobody should go to work to get abused. Recession or no recession.

I have worked on sets where we could not even talk to the talent although not normal it does happen and walking into a shot will get you fired.
many situations where the producers are the crazy ones and people walked around scared of them.
I would always wait for them to finish then take them aside and see if they still wanted to scream and shout when no one is around and you know what they don't.
That is because they don't have an audience and they are cowards and they know you can take them down.

Has nobody ever been chewed out by their boss before? Sure Bale may not directly be his boss but you know.

I've seen employees chewed out way worse for way less with way less money on the line. You **** up you get yelled at. Big deal.
