Write tons of letters to your congressman, or start one of those online petitions (I'd sign).

Screw the elephants, I'm sure there are people around you that can use the help more than some animal. Instead of hijakcing an elephant trailer then being stuck with elephants you can't do anything with, why not put that energy into donating time to do something nice for a kid with lukemia, or feed a homeless person.

Screw you man! Screw you!
Elephants are not just some animals. They highly emotional, and sensitive. They are also endangered, and can be used for so much better purposes.
BTW, I donate to child abuse organizations, cancer organizations, and my local animal shelter. I don't promote laziness and don't feel sorry for most homeless americans.

As an animal lover. I found that video disturbing to watch. Just sickening.

I'm all for animals not being abused, but I would gladly drown a bag full of kittens to be able to cure cancer in 1 person.

What are you saying helping animals is a waste of time? Curing cancer is for doctors, and once again, I donate to those doctors as well. These are not everday animals either. Would you honestly say you would you not drown bag full of ultra-rare exotic spotted Iranian gold-nose show kittens for a stranger who could be the most evil person on earth?

Re: Circus is in my town. My plan to free the Elephants
I am against cruelty to animals 100 percent (or any kind of cruelty for that matter). But when people start talking about not eating meat or wearing fur and all that PETA crap it has gone waaay too far.
I once heard a guy say he is against animals being killed for their fur, so he has them skinned alive.
And if God didn't want us to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?
Something tells me that will touch a nerve.

I think he meant that he'd be ok with testing drugs on any animal if it saved human life. Besides, how do you know if that elephant who is being beaten isn't the most evil elephant on earth? Think about those cute little monkies who spread the epidemic called AIDS. If someone put them in the circus and beat them, we might not have this problem.
See, all the tree-huggers (in this case animal huggers) have the greatest intentions, but they all knee-jerk to a cause without understanding it. Ten years from now, when you're enjoying a nice medium rare elephant steak and washing it down with a cup of elephant tird tea served in an ivory coffee cup, you'll wonder how you could have been so foolish in '06.
Save the whales.
