CRAP!!! I paid $23.00 for a page out of a guitar magazine!!!

Last week on my break at work I ran across a picture of Joe advertising his Ibanez 1200CA on evilbay. I thought it would look nice on the wall for my future guitar practice room/studio (long term goal).
I was in a hurry because my break was ending so I went for it and paid.

Well, I thought I was getting a poster advertisement (like those on the wall in music stores) from the seller. When I came home from work the package was on my doorstep. I opened it and...@#%^!!!! The seller just cut out an advertizement from a guitar magazine and sold it!

I totally fell for it because I rushed the purchase without doing a full check on what it was he was selling. If he said it was a clipping from a magazine, I would not have purchased it.

I deserve to be called an idiot or something and laughed at! Here's your chance to do it if you feel like calling someone an idiot without negative consequences. I just have to laugh at myself. I feel at fault because he advertised it just as it was. The measurements should have rung a bell in my head that this is a magazine page cut out. So glad I didn't pay extra for the special frame!

I just had to vent and share my stupidity. Now I'll go grab a cold one from the fridge and laugh more!

Lesson from this that I knew already and should have followed: NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, TAKE TIME TO RESEARCH AND READ WHEN BUYING FROM EVILBAY! ASK THE SELLER QUESTIONS!

Here's the description and item number if you want to look:

Seller's words: "Joe Satriani is featured in this Ibanez promo ad that ran in a music publication and displayed in a 8.5"X11" frame. Original ad. Excellent condition. "

It does suck. And I thought it would be entertaining at least.

Tell you what...I have really cool Satriani picture that should be framed on your wall. I'll cut you a good deal...$35.00. And shipping will be: $22.00.

On a serious note, it will probably look better when I see it framed. Thanks!

There's a whole bunch of those things on Yahoo! Japan. I always wondered who actually buys those, but now I know... maybe I should start tearing apart copies of Young Guitar and selling the ads on that auction site.

Too bad it's not a reproduction of the ad, you could get the guy in trouble with the magazine.

In the meantime, you should bash your head into a wall. Ha!

I am officially one of those people. Who Wants To Join the "Expensive Magazine Clipping Collector Club" (aka: EMCCC) with me!? Anyone? *crickets*

On the other hand, looking at his history, he's making a lot of money off it. Maybe this is an awaking for a new job for me?

I was waiting for that. I'm kind of burned out on buying magazines at the time.

I think I'll just hand a baseball bat to my wife and then tell her. Actually she would bust up laughing at me. Better keep this quiet.

Look it this way, you only paid $23.00. There are countless number of people who were conned on eb*y much more money than you. On that note, its not too bad....

^^^This is true. I could have ended up much worse from previous buys on evilbay.

Just cracks me up that I could have purchased a few guitar magazines for that price though.
