What the hell is happening in Australian cricket at the moment? First we hear that Singh is banned for using a racist comment against Andrew Symons, next thing I'm reading the entire Aussie press corps has turned against the team and is calling for Ricky Ponting's head...... bizarre.

Now the wholesale firing of the entire Australian cricket squad may improve South Africa's chances against them later this year (OK I'm a realist), but where's the glory in beating a team that's being hammered on all sides by its own press?

I'm becoming rather fed up with the politicised nature of the game these days. The whole debacle in the Eng/Pak series last year, SA complaining about racist crowds in Aus and now this?

It's starting to look like football (soccer to some).

Apologies to the Americans for talking about a game with more rules than players on the field. I promise I'll start a thread about rounders ....... sorry, baseball, soon.

OK, India have announced they are going to continue with the tour for the moment, while Singh's appeal is going through the process.
Depending on the outcome they may still "take their bat and ball and go home"
