Chasing him with an air horn, that must have been a sight to see.

Re: David Coverdale chases a bear out of his house

It would have been way cooler if he did it with a guitar instead of a air horn...

He's lucky. One swipe of a paw on a 400 pounder would gut him.
Stupid.

Re: David Coverdale chases a bear out of his house

I like the headline of the BBC story: "Bear confronts Whitesnake singer." The use of the term 'confronts' makes it sound sort of like:

BEAR: Oi! Coverdale!
DAVID: I'm sorry?
BEAR: I want a word wif you.
DAVID: I should certainly like to scarper at this point.
BEAR: Oh no you don't. My mate said you were sleeping in his log all winter.
DAVID: I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about.
BEAR: He said there was a white snake hibernating in his log and he couldn't wake 'im. He's scared of snakes so he had to spend all winter crouched in a mossy overhang. Froze his nards off n'everyfink.
DAVID: I think you have the wrong white snake.
BEAR: That's what that Adrian Vandenberg said! You're trying to trick me!

A 400 pounder doesn't want trouble, and an air horn would absolutely scare the hell out of it. Just shouting would probably do the trick.
How many people have an airhorn just lying around though? He may have had it just for scaring bears off. Good investment

Re: David Coverdale chases a bear out of his house

-His first face-to-face encounter with a bear came in July, as he was "rinsing a cup or two at the kitchen sink".

-"I don't mind telling you I almost succumbed to an involuntary bowel movement," Coverdale told fans online.

You have got to love the way the british handle the english language. Imagine the same story being told by a guest at Ricki Lake...
