Direct TV
Does anyone here have it and what do you think of it?
I am debating getting it, but I am unsure.
Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Direct TV
Direct TV is awesome. Having had and installed all 3, I would take it all day over Comcast and Dish Network

Re: Direct TV
I currently have Comcast Cable. It's not bad. But I saw that Direct offers a ton of HD channels.
They quoted me $289.00 up front with 5 receivers 2 HD receivers and 3 additional boxes, plus no charge for installation.
Should be around $130.00 Per month with Internet also.

Re: Direct TV
get FIOS if it's available. DirecTV is the last choice in the USA (behind cable) unless you don't want a DVR or quality HDTV.... glen

Re: Direct TV
verizon fios TV.
problem with DTV is they do HDTV-lite (downressed 1928x1080 to 1280x1080) and worse HEAVY compression. couple that with the fact you must BUY a HD-DVR (or regular DVR) they're the last choice typically unless you're in a small city with horrendous cable and/or no FIOS TV... glen

Re: Direct TV
There customer service and especially their installers are the worst, atleast from Chicago to Milwaukee. Hell on was on the phone with one guy for 45 minutes becuase he was convinced I had installed everything wrong, only to find out he was using the wrong remote.

Being a tech for Charter Communications I probably should keep my mouth shut in this thread.

Re: Direct TV
Comcast is pretty good down in Florida, just expensive.
My mom in VA has Direct TV, and it's not that bad at all, but that's the only option she has seeing that they don't even offer cable where she lives yet.

Re: Direct TV
I had DirecTV for a few years and it was the bane of my existence. I can't comment on how it is now, but back when I had it, almost everytime it rained the reception would drop.

Re: Direct TV
How was the install, I rarely lost it no matter what the weather was like. Never had too many complaints on dishes we installed either.
