It's a pretty decent phone, I think screens that size are universal for full QWERTY phones, so it's convenient to keep them in mind, when building sites.

without images the ALT tags are brutal. I'll tweak them as imho they're highly annoying even flyover text is annoying.
thnx for the quick response; these changes -however small- help.

your phone does NOT have full flash support (neither does iPhone)... glen
The Nokia E71 has Flash Lite III, specifically made for mobile applications, it should support something as trivial as an animated picture such as on the Jemsite homepage.

Dunno about iPhone. AFAIK, Apple wants to preclude the use of Flash for video (h.264 is supported by FL3) or games (also supported) which would subvert their Apple store business model.

Re: Do you visit Jemsite from a phone/smartphone

lemme know if i missed anything.

i have an older Motorola Q9c to test with qVGA 320x240 (landscape) screen. the limitation is that there is just too many elements onscreen to jam into 320 pixels across. I'll get that tested over the next week with and without graphics.

Flash comes in all varieties, for jemsite you'd need a full flash 7+ support (coming from Adobe this spring hopefully except on iPhone)... glen

Re: Do you visit Jemsite from a phone/smartphone

I've just realised a major problem with the changes that have been made. If you have images turned off (or are vision impaired) there are no alt tags now, so to find the new topic button, quote, and things like that are impossible. I view the site with images off at work to help lower my Internet usage (it's a nazi regime here at work), and I just went to find the new topic button, and cannot.

Re: Do you visit Jemsite from a phone/smartphone

the alt tags are there. not sure what you're seeing but i have firefox img killer to quickly turnoff any images so i can see the tags quickly.

on the bottom of this thread you see reply. the text links are not big and obnoxious but they're there. lemme know if you don't see them as that indicates a different problem... glen

Re: Do you visit Jemsite from a phone/smartphone

Hmm. My setup hasn't changed at work, but since the last run of fixes the alt tags disappeared. I'm just using the settings under options in FireFox (content), where I block images from http://www.jemsite.com.

if you could post a screenshot (of this thread for example) that would be great. i think you're just not seeing the alt tags... for example "post reply" button says "reply" hypertext link... glen

That's what used to be there, so I know what they look like, and they certainly aren't there now for me. I'll post a screenshot from home tonight.

Re: Do you visit Jemsite from a phone/smartphone

Just used Jemsite from my iphone whilst waiting at the Apple store, and I gotta say, it was easy to use. Checked my PM's went through everything. works nicely...

only real issue was hitting next page or selecting which number page I want to go to.. They are so small I had to zoom real far into it just to change page.. Its not a real big deal at all, im just saying..

good work jemsite team.. works nice on my iphone...
