Re: Does anyone know anything about FTA Satellites?

I know these are pretty big on the continent mainly with immigrants because the Astra and Eurobird satellites provide programs in many european languages so someone living in the UK can watch Turkish or Polish TV for free (cost of the dish + receiver is under £100).
This works really well in Europe as there are 20odd different languages being spoken with some not related at all.

I'm guessing FTA is pretty popular in the southern states with all the Spanish speaking migrants.

yeah, i know that much, but I just bought a system for my mother so she can watch Thailand and Laos TV, and i haven't started setting it up yet, but the instructions are pretty vague, and all of these technical terms are really intimidating me.

Re: Does anyone know anything about FTA Satellites?

A lot of people use this site for sat info. http://www.lyngsat.com

Here is some info for Thailand.... http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Thailand.html

http://www.lyngsat.com/thai5.html

The ones with the F are free, and I think you could get the "global" channels as long as you can point your dish at the sat with no obstructions.

Re: Does anyone know anything about FTA Satellites?

You can use multiple dishes and sometimes multiple lnb's on one dish to point at several sats at the same time.
