Donation info to HELP with SCS/Patrick Sims' serious medical expenses
As many of you are aware our very own vendor
Patrick Sims (
Sims Custom Shop
banner - forumname: SCS) had a car accident earlier this year and in treatment for injuries was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Thankfully he is getting great care and there is a discussion about his treatment and healing here:
http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60759
Even though he has standard health insurance, as of mid-April even after insurance reimubursement
he has over $77,000 in medical bills due
, with more tests and procedures coming up at thousands $$$ each. Some of the tests and procedures are covered 100%, some covered 80%, some alot less meaning Patrick owes more $$$. Having been unable to work, while recovering obviously doesn't help.
We have a wonderful community here and many of you regularly contribute time, energy and $$$ to charity. If you feel the desire to make a charitable contribution to help pay for Patrick's care expenses you can do so as follows
*
Paypal payment to Simscustomshop@aol.com
and please put
"Donation for medical bills"
into the subject or title of the comments section for recordkeeping and tax reasons.
* without paypal please
PrivateMessage SCS here
and he can give you the address and info.
Here are some words from patrick about lending a helping hand via donation:
http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=73
Contributions of any amount would be appreciated and will help. These contributions can also be tax-writeoffs (print your paypal receipt) as well as going to a jemsite forum family member where it will 100% go to good use.
Thanks... glen

If it can wait a few weeks I'm in. I've been laid off for a few weeks here and Im already $500 shy of my mortgage payment, otherwise Id throw something in immediately.

Re: Donation info to HELP with SCS/Patrick Sims' serious medical expenses
Just wanted to say thanks to everybody. So far I've gotten about 6 very generous donations. I've gotten enough already to pay this months and next months insurance bill, so thats very nice. Those are two less bills I now have to worry about. Thanks again

I wish I had some spare dough to shoot over
. My thoughts are with you Patrick - this can't be nice.
Makes you truly appreciate the NHS. It gets bashed a lot by the press and the public, but at least you don't get hit with bills like this. What a complete joke of a system.

Amen to that.
I was incredibly happy for having an NHS after watching a Denzel Washington film where his little boy's heart gives out and his medical insurance won't cough-up for a transplant over a technicality - I hope that the reality isn't quite that harsh for people with medical insurance.
Sent a little summat, all I can spare at the minute, but as Tesco's say, every little helps.
If everyone can send something, Patrick can concentrate on getting better instead of medical bills!

Just as a side note, don't think that just because Patrick got some good news from the sawbones (thank God for that) that he doesn't need our help anymore. The bills are still there, do what you can folks.
