Re: Fantasy Football 2009

I've heard plenty of candid interviews with players who admit time after time that the most intense strength/cardio program in the offseason still won't prepare you for putting pads on and running around like crazy in a game. It's insane how these guys are so much better athletes than we could ever pretend to be.

I like this: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/traini...ory?id=4405998

Cutler already causing problems, his OC and #1 wideout having to dance around explanations of his crybaby attitude and poor decision-making. The guy is a carbon copy of Favre post-2001.

I wonder how many of the "Packers fans" who bought Jets #4 jerseys last year will buy Vikings #4 jerseys this year?

I think the browns have stunk long enough that you can start cheering for a new teams and nobody will blame you.

Hey Jerry - welcome to the new stadium.

Maybe you can trade for Derrek Anderson?

hey jerry... F-YOU!

Since you won't sell the team (you'll die with it firmly in your grasp) at least fire this PATHETIC COACHING STAFF (worst in the NFL collectively) and hire a GM.

Sorry Glen - you're walking down the same road that Raiders fans did in the 90's when Al Davis really lost it. You might get lucky here and there, but it's all downhill until Jerry kicks the bucket, unfortunately. All of the consistently good teams have an owner who stays out of the way and there is no way Jones will do that again.

Plus, as much as I believe Jones wants to put together a Super Bowl team... there has to be a part of him (probably a big part) that realizes the Cowboys will be huge as long as they are mediocre or better.

Re: Fantasy Football 2009

Yup, like Al, Jerry is a control freak and both have severe case of over-inflated self-importance. Jerry is a brilliant marketing guy but a football idiot. In this case his control over every nut & bolt at the new stadium allowed him to ignore the most inept staff in the NFL... keeping it intact while ignoring sloppy play dating back to even when Tuna rebuilt the franchise. Simply pathetic. What is sad is that unlike the raiders Jerry somewhat listens to his scouts during the draft so the 'boys have a good core group of young player who are totally mismanaged. By his hand-picked group of pathetic coaches.

I mean the boys have perhaps the best TRIO of RBs in the league (not really perhaps it's pretty much a fact) and best TE duo (and a real FB who can block) yet they're all grossly misused by our inept OC. game after game after game after game... glen

Re: Fantasy Football 2009

Wow, I should really dig up the thread from last year where I said Roy Williams is not a good receiver. Now he claims he is still the #1 guy (too bad it's in salary and not production or effort) and blames his play on Romo somehow hitting Austin perfectly but missing on throws to him. New city, same bad teammate and bad wideout.

Re: Fantasy Football 2009

Roy has proven himself not to be a good WR. His numbers obviously were skewed being on a bad team, always behind & passing a lot. I thought he'd be at least a little better than he is however... glen

Re: Fantasy Football 2009

Williams made a few big plays in Detroit by accident. Mostly against teams that were playing vanilla defense because they were up by 21. Come game time, he's got to be the laziest wideout in football. He runs routes like an offensive lineman. My favorite comment of his back in the Lions days was when a sideline reporter asked Roy if he had himself on his fantasy team. He answered something along the lines of "Are you kidding? No way."

Jerry was just desperate to find a receiver so he could dump TO and no team aside from the Browns is going to give up a #1 wideout.

That contract is going to haunt you guys. On the bright side, Miles Austin looks legitimately good.
