For 25 and under only GRAMPS!

So your all having a look ha?

I was surfing and saw this.

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...76383487268814

Years ago a friend of mine did me a video copy of S Vai's ALS , i subsequently burnt it and had him killed but i digress. after it there was a spare 2 hours of tape (streaming video used to be put on it) and he put the above clip on, im glad he did he was wise man, gud bless him.

this is track one and i was hooked, with the advent of the NUT many of you younger guys and girls may have heard of him/seen him before but if you havnt it well worth sticking round for an education on how to solo the **** out of a track. I dont mean that in a condescending way as most of you guy could shread me anyway and maybe jazz me?

I love music no matter what part of the store it comes from if its good its good and this is AMAZING. i hope some of you havnt seen this before and can dig it. hey if i can like headcharge and Pantera and killswitch then.

Johnny A kind of bores me. It just feels like elevator music to me. Gimme Andy Timmons or Marco Sfogli any day

Johnny A is a good player! But you must be proud to have a brit again the likes of Guthrie Govan! I still can't believe he's real. His Erotic Cakes CD knocked me so hard. I haven't been so excided about an album since Passion Warfare.

Its cool but sadly it dont make me any better. That metheny blew me away some of the lines are just jaw dropping and its pretty much improved, check the other versions they have some similar lines here and there but i think he performed a lot like SRV. Meaning no 2 performances are exactly the same? someone can probably field that one.

Guthrie's good, he's very very good and I don't want to take it away from him but most of his music sounds like a "Guthrie playing in the stile of" study.
Almost as if he's showcasing his ability and he's very very VERY strongly influenced by Brett Garsed.

Too close to the original for me to enjoy...
