run wires thru the wall.

i'd run these: VGA, HDMI, and 5-wire Component video

preferably with the players/boxes in a closet and IR remote extender to control them. if not then in a cabinet anywhere in room.... glen

What brand is it? I am thinking about getting a 32" LCD TV but I'm really confused what to buy. I've been checking out a rather new brand called Mirai anybody heard of them?

Regards

We hanged our plazme screen in our bedroom since that is where we like to watch TV, eat ... .
and theres no TV in the leaving room at all. I have built a shelf for the DVD, Tuner etc, and placed it real close to the plazma. and we bought plastic tubes in the colour of the bedroom walls so they don't stick out to much, and ran all the cables through them.

hehe.. people do it... most often in a movie room with a closet builg behind the screen. Can be useful if you want to flush mount speakers but not for a crummy TV like that protruding into the laundry room or something ...glen

Re: for those who have big plasma TVs on the wall....

one good method is to build shelving close to the tv for your dvd player and such and cut a whole in the wall behind the shelfs, then run the wires into the hole and then out of a hole that is covered up by your new tv. I prefer the rack set up in a different room but not everybody wants to shell out that kind of money or has the room.

Re: for those who have big plasma TVs on the wall....

I know someone who just installed a big LCD. They hung it on the wall, ran the wires through the wall, and placed one of those electric fireplaces against the wall beneth it.

All of the recievers and wries and stuff are hidden inside of he fireplace unit and it looks nice and clean. They had to get a remote control that works from any room in the house so that it would opperate the reciever that is hidden inside the fireplace. Any bookcase type thing would work too as long as it's not too tall.

Kenny,

This might be what you're looking for....

You might even buy two and put them both right under the tv or on each side.

That omni mount system sucks hard. I did custom home theater installs for 5 years and hated every time the customer bought one of those. You cant hide the cables very well and it always felt flimsy.

I've got my 42" plasma on a table with a million cables all over (XBOX360, DVD player, surroundsystem and the DIGIbox). Looks really horrible but who cares as long as I can watch the damn thing.
