Future competition (April, May & beyond) feedback - vote your preferences

Hi

I'm collecting data about what the general public would like to see for the entry/prize ratio.

would you like to see:

a) $20 entry, 125 people entered, one guitar, 2 runner up 'free entry' prizes
b) $25 entry, 110 people entered, one guitar (better odds)
c) $25 entry, 125 people entered, one guitar, 2 lesser value (but decent) runner up prizes, 2 'free entry' prizes

So far, suggestions for the lesser value prizes have been:

A 2nd guitar (cost prohibitive)
iPod Nano (lukewarm response)
Keeley compressor pedal
juststrings.com gift certificate/allowance ($50-75 value)
pick-a-pickup from a sponsor or "friend" site up to $75 value (incl. shipping)

Our ears are open...speak now.

I like (C). I think you're going to have a hard time getting consensus on the runner up prizes. Though if you do go with (A) or (D), I'd be ok with any of the prizes listed except for the iPod Nano.

EDIT: options changing underneath my feet!

i edited the poll as #2 was incorrectly listed. there would be "free re-entries" but no large "second prize" ... glen

ps - there really should be a $20 option with better odds.... i'll add that now.

C allows more opportunity for someone to win something whether it is a guitar, Ipod, or whatever. I'd be happy to get a 4GB Nano, they are slick. I also wouldn't mind a modded pedal of some sort, be it a Boss/Keely DS-1 (seems to be a fave around here) or a credit from, as was said, a "friend" site. Maybe talk with a few dealers about the idea and see who has a good selection, take a poll, and go with the highest rated. That would seem, to me, to be the most democratic. A gift card to a music store will suit more people than a one option prize, I think.

Shame the Tremol-no isn't out just yet, that'd be a good candidate for a 2nd prize.

"C" in the re-editied poll! Better odds for the guitar. Getting a new GUITAR for dirt cheap was the whole reason we initially started this.

Also, "juststrings.com gift certificate/allowance" isn't necessarily that great a prize if you're not in one of the North American colonies.

i assume the difference between B and C is 7vwh or BRMR as everything else is same.. if thats the case,

B all teh way!!!!! 7vwh 7vwh 7vwh!!!

as for less chance but bigger second prize, honestly just about all aren't that interesting except the pups maybe
