I have a tip, BUY A TICKET! I've never gatecrashed, but I have gotten in for free, expecting to pay. That's always cool!

Never done it but one of my old teachers told me he got into college football games for free by taking a clipboard with papers on it and wearing the teams hat and acting like he is a recruiter for bigger football teams lol

Re: Gatecrashing / sneaking into events....

Got in to see DT through my old drummer's contacts, Seriously one of the greatest nights at a concert I'd ever had. Met the whole band, everyone was very cool.
We never knew how she did it until one night we got in to see Joe Lynn Turner (Ex- Rainbow, Yngwie, etc) and were approached by the tour manager. I and my drummer were standing there and the guy says, " So you're the guitar and drum tech for Skid Row?"
I had no clue WTF he was talking about, so we said, "Uhh, no."
Out we go.
The show was WAY undersold, there were maybe 40 people in the venue and they needed every ticket they could get money out of. They said if we wanted in, to pay for a ticket.

I guess we now know how she was getting us in to see events.

Re: Gatecrashing / sneaking into events....

i was at the whitesnake show with vai in 1990? 1991? anyway, they wouldn't let me enter with my 35mm cam. i didn't need flash, as the film was fast enough! half the show i was miserable, wanting to take a few shots. during the show i left my seat, outdoor event at poplar creek...great venue no longer there...and looked around for a way to get out and sneak back in with it. i found a very dark area next to the bathrooms, scaled the fence, and ran to the car to get the cam. ran back to the same location, scaled the fence, maybe 15', jumped down into the darkness next to the washrooms, and came out from the shadows. i felt as if all eyes were on me, even though i was doing nothing "wrong." got some shots, although not that great at all....but i was happy. i was 17 at the time? so i did pay for a ticket but had to sneak out and sneak back in with the cam.
