Getting drunk, how to fix it?

i don't think that this si inaproopiate so i don't see why they should close it. Okay there are a lot of talking about this, some say it coffee, some say its water, some says its a shower, but i have no idea which one is true. So the question is, when you are drunk and you want to get well (sober) that same night what do you do?

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

Well, if you know you need to be sober the same night, don't get drunk in the first place

Really.....I dont know that its possible if your BAC is really high...there is no way to speed the assimilation up except time......A nap might help ya to feel a bit better though.

Honestly.......why would you want to get drunk and then be sober??

plans change my friend, for example, my friends got drunk in my house last friday becuase he was staying over, but then suddenly his parents came to the house and picked him up. So he was grounded and we came up with the question....

There's no way to speed up the metabolization of alcohol in the bloodstream.

But - if you run into another problem like what you said, try breath-away or any of the breath products made especially for this kind of problem....they can mask the odor pretty well. Then you'd be okay, unless your obviously wasted and stumbling around.

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

i suspect a blood transfusion would fix the problem, but i don't recommend you try this at home.

the other thing that can make you feel quite sober is being punched square in the face at your local pub by someone you don't know. again, this will only make you feel sober, and may not be a practical solution for your friend.

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

I used to drink alot and have never been hung over. I could be wrong, but my "secrets" were:

1) Never drink mixed drinks, nothing with sugar. I always drank Jack Daniels on the rocks. Never Jack and Coke or anything, and never Jack, then rum, then vodka, then beer, etc...

2) I would always drink 2 bottles of water before I passed out to keep myself hydrated.
I can't promise it works, but I never woke up sick the next morning.

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

Elcid's advice is good, won't necessarily make you sober up faster, but it will make you feel better overall.

Best thing to do is not to drink, of course, or at least drink less than your friends. If you want to feel/seem more sober, having a good meal before drinking and drinking a lot of water throughout and after drinking alcohol should help. As others here said, nothing will help you actually sober up faster after drinking.

If you want to be sober, you have to try B6 Vitamine, a lot of times when one of my friends got really drunk i bring him to the hospital, and they inject B6 Vitamine, in his vein. This vitamine helps a lot to clean your blood, of course you cant inject your friends, but there is pills of B6 vitamine, buy them and take two pills after. It's not fast as the injected but it works.

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

Don't know the exact reasoning behind it but my drummer swears by this tactic. He just sweats it out. I've seen him drinking like crazy before we would go on stage, so much that at several times he was carrying an open beer in each hand and once during an interview with a local music scene website he danced disco and breakdance styles.... but he could get on stage and by about halfway through our set he would just be feeling good, and later he would walk off stage totally sober at the end of the show.

Re: Getting drunk, how to fix it?

If you want to get drunk try drinking pure grain alcohol 190 proof. Do not drink it straight but mix it with water and lemon juice or crystal light powder for flavor. Usually one glass will get you a incredible buzz and if you get 8 hours of sleep you shouldn't be hung over. You might be a little groggy but I have never been hung over from drinking grain alcohol. I usually down about 12 ounces of water before I go to sleep and pop about 3 asprin.

You will probably want to chill the drink on ice. Lots of ice. Grain alcohol melts ice VERY fast. I will usually drink from a 20 ounce glass full of ice with 3/4 water and 1/4 grain with crystal light. Try this first on a weekend and not on a work night.
