ps - highest payroll club has not won a WS in many years. the yankees 90s dynasty was NOT the highest payroll that happened as they resigned homegrown players and chased a 5th title for this group (27th in history) overspending for mediocre old guys with big contracts.

I have to chime in here...
1-I also think it's a great logo!

2-The Yankee logo and look have remained the same for what seems like forever. That is, if nothing else, a great achievement in itself.

3-The Yankees have not always outspent their opponents. What they have done is learned to adapt to the ever changing ways of baseball. When Babe Ruth was with Boston he was primarily used as a pitcher, the Yankees saw the need for a powerful bat in an era that had a dead ball. They have since then changed their way of looking at business several times through ownership changes, only to evolve into a winning team time and again. Spending is not the key. Spending wisely is the ticket to success, and they have had quite a bit of unfortunate moves. Hideki Irabu, Steve Kemp, Kenny Rogers, Ed Whitson...The fact is though, after bad moves they reevaluate the situation and head on to try to rectify the mistakes, where other teams fold and disintegrate!!

4-Don't hate them for having owners who care for the product, but rather question the integrity of your own teams motives!!
