Hands swelling up :(

So Ive been out spraying the old deck off this morning with the pressure sprayer and this ALWAYS happens. My hands get a bit numb and they swell a wee bit, its not like they are crippled its just aggravating as when i pick upt he guitar now my playing is quite tense etc. This happens whenever i use power tools or the weedeater pretty much anythign with lots of vibration. Is their anything i can do to take the swelling down quickly? And what can i do to prevent it in the future. Ive used gloves before but they didnt seem to help. Any thoughts?

Re: Hands swelling up :(

Sounds like a circulation problem. I'm no doctor, but my girlfriend has similar problems at times, especially in the winter. The best thing to try IMHO would be to immerse your hands in very warm/hot water and then cold water. Repeat it a couple of times.

Let us know how you get on

Lay off the booze

Sounds like the vibration is messing with your joints. Why not try some foam padding where you hold the item?

Sounds like HAVS to me (Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome)

This is a circulation problem caused by prolonged use of power, pneumatic tools. Do you're fingers go white? It causes a lack of sensation, numbness and can be quite painful.

Go and see a doctor !!!! and limit the amount of time you spend using vibrating tools (no rude comments please !!!)

Re: Hands swelling up :(

Try heavier duty "anti-vibration" gloves. How long was you using it for?Vibration from power tools can cause a condition called "vibration white finger" (vwf for short).Don't know if that would make your whole hand swell though, but it does sound like circulation problems IMO.May be worth just consulting a doc or something rather than risk long term damage.

NO!!!!!!!!!! Coz i wouldn't be able to play my vwh with big gloves

(although this may give me an excuse for playing so badly )
