Re: Hatton Vs. Mayweather

I am betting on hatton, as are alot of people. It will be a tough fight because both are great technical fighters, it just alot of people want to see Mayweather get knocked out because of how he acts like such a knob head. *look at me! I can bring 50 cent to the ring with me*

Got to root for my hometown boy

Ricky Hatton is from a little town near me, about 5-10 minutes away, and it's no wonder he grew up to be so f'ing hard. It's HORRIBLE around there, lol.

Re: Hatton Vs. Mayweather

Ricky said Mayweather's only chance of winning is if Floyd kills him. The determination and hunger is unbelievable!

Whatever happens, this should be a phenomenal fight.

Technically, yes. But Ricky's power is greater. I doubt Floyd can hurt him.

Re: Hatton Vs. Mayweather

Gotta go with Hatton here chaps, it definitely will be an amazing fight but imo Hatton is in another league. He's phenomenal, a true ambassador for the sport. I'm that confident I'm considering putting a bet on Hatton but I don't think the odds will be worth it.

Interesting that every American picked Mayweather and every Brit picked Hatton

Re: Hatton Vs. Mayweather

Good luck with the bet, Anton. I think you're probably right about the odds, though.

UK boxing is on a serious roll right now, what with all the guys from the Calzaghe stable, Enzo Macarinelli, Gavin Rees, Joe Calzaghe. Plus David Haye (cruiserweight, about to head up to heavy) who I think shows quite a lot of promise. I'm not sure he has a great chin yet, but we'll see. Hopefully we'll soon have another world champ in Hatton. That'd be our 7th world champion. I think?

I thought Mayweather's last fight (with Oscar de la Hoya) was a real snoozefest. Can't see the same thing happening this time. Hatton's gonna take him to hell and Floyd better not start dancing again. I don't wanna see him hitting and running.

GO RICKY.

Floyd's the man. Too bad we can't go to "the bookies" here in the US.

Is this going to be on PPV or is HBO showing it for free to subscribers?

Normally I wouldn't pick a winner based on that fighter coming from the same country as I live in. That's like supporting a crap football team just because they're local which makes no sense, but I genuinely think Hatton is gonna come out on top. To be honest, there are things I don't like about Hattons style -- he tends to grapple a heck of a lot, but he is effective and way smarter than people give him credit for, he just uses whatever technique is needed to win the fight, and sometimes rough tactics are the best way to break down an opponent and tire them out before the KO.

My ideal fight would be if Ricky KO's Mayweather with a body shot like he did when he destroyed Castillo. That punch looked brutal!

I'm a brit and I voted Mayweather.

Whilst I would love to see Ricky do the business (even though he is a city fan) I think Mayweather will be too fast and too clever for him.

That being said, if Ricky catches him with a big punch he is going down.

This is the 1st fight I have been tempted to pay for / stay up for since the Tyson vs. Bruno one. Lets just hope it lives up to the hype
