Heads up for Florida Residents

Hey guys/gals, I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you all are too busy playing your guitars to watch the weather, but we may have a visitor sometime early next week. I just wanted to let you know ahead of time so that you don't have to deal with the crowds and mayhem at the stores if you need to buy supplies. The National Hurricane Center is forcasting Dean to become a major hurricane by this weekend.

It's still too soon to know where it will be beyond Sunday, but I just wanted to put it out there as we all know too well how these things like to visit the Sunshine state.

Peace.

Heads up? I'd have thought a heads down would be more appropriate.

No, heads up comes first then once you've shuttered up your home and brought the rum out then it's heads down.

Well, it is on the Atlantic still right now and won't even be in our neck of the woods until early next week, but I gladly accept your prayers! These storms sometimes follow paths and the one from Cabo Verde, across the carribean and into Florida is a pretty common one, but as yet anything can happen and we are all definitely hoping for the best, but in case things don't go our way, we have to be prepared to hunker down as well.

I'm hoping it pummels us. I want to see this new FEMA in action. Let it hit us at Cat. 5 strength. I'll be playing my guitar and listening to the wind blow.

Have you ever been through a cat 5?? I guarantee you you won't be sitting calmly listening to the wind. More likely you'll be hiding in your bathroom praying that you survive while your house is ripped apart.
I got the eye wall of Wilma 3 times and we were in those winds for like 4 hours. I had to drink a rum and coke just to calm my nerves while I watched my sliding glass doors rippling even with the shutters on them. I was praying that they wouldn't shatter from the pressure and that my roof would hold and Wilma was just a Cat. 3. Besides, you wouldn't be able to hear your guitar over that noise anyway.

I've been thru them all. Plus, I've got a very loud amp. It's a Crate after all. Don't worry...I'll be able to hear myself jam. I might even play some blues for the rest of the neighborhood while the eyewall slams us. Then maybe some depressing, slow death metal.

Does your amp run on batteries?? Wow Courtney. I've gotta hand it to you. You're even more of a superwoman than I imagined. You've got more guts than me I can tell you that. I know I sure as hell wouldn't be able to sit calmly and strum my guitar with this coming at me.

My hat goes off to you girl!

Heres hoping it stays away from land. New Orleans is already nervous about Dean making it into the gulf.
