Help Scammers Help
I'm selling my laptop on Craigslist. I get these I'll send money via Paypal. How does this scam work? Here's the reply......
Thanks for the quick response...i would have love to pick up this item but i am not in the state for now due to my tight schedule, as i am currently here in Brussels (Belgium). That's where i'll be needing your help for you to ship this item directly to my girl-friend schooling abroad where i'll be paying 200 dollars as the shipment fees through USPS Global express mail service (EMS) 3-5 days delivery.
So, kindly back to me with your paypal id and the total cost or send me a money request including the 200 dollars so as to send the payment asap cos i want this package to be mail out today.
Get back to me..

Re: Help Scammers Help
The typical scam would be to pay with a credit card of a compromised Paypal account. It's not his account, thus the alternate shipping address. I'd accept the payment then alert Paypal by phone of the compromised account so they can put a hold on it before the guy can do any more damage.

Re: Help Scammers Help
Well it's pretty easy to find where somebody lives from their name, I don't want Johhny Rod sending me a mailbomb when I turn them in unless I get a cut from the recovered money

Re: Help Scammers Help
I was
almost
scammed by this same stuff for my Schecter. $2700 worth too, that damn son of a bitch. Luckily, since banks refuse to verify checks due to it "releasing customer information" we didnt cash it and were saved.

It's a fairly same way to do business if you know what you are doing, but always be suspicious.

I think I'd do the same; if you just pass on it he will get something from someone else.
