HENDRIX'S GUITAR SELLS FOR £280,000

"The first guitar set alight on stage by rock legend Jimi Hendrix has been sold at auction for £280,000.

Hendrix torched the 1965 Fender Stratocaster at the end of his show at the Astoria in Finsbury Park, north London, in March 1967.

Roadies put out the flames while Hendrix was being treated for minor burns and his press officer, Tony Garland, stored it in his parents' garage in Hove, East Sussex."

aye i seen that on breakfast tv yesterday.thought it would of went for more than that.hendrix had 3 golden strats malmsteen bought one in a auction for $500.000,no idea who owns other 2.

The strangest part is that it was found in a garage???? Talk about buried treaure!

I'd restore it (leave the body charred, of course), but I'd restore it to full playability. That's why I can't be trusted around old/relic guitars. Funny thing...I want to PLAY them, not just have them in a glass case in the center of my palatial estate in the Hamptons.
