Hi and a little venting...

Well, I haven't been here much lately, not even lurking...so first of all, hi to everyone!!!

I wanted to share my experiences from last year...which I believe was easily the worst one of my life. I've told all of this stuff separately, but it's recap time!

At the beggining of 2005, the situation at my old job was unsustainable. They paid me whenever they felt like it, and later I found out they haven't paid my legal health and retirement stuff for over a year!, So finally, on may 2005 I decided it was time to leave. After that, I was without a job for 2 months, which added to the previous irregular payments left me with a huge debt. Bottom line: 2 of my beloved guitars had to go.

Around the same time, my lower back started to hurt. Long story short: I now have 6 titanium screws in my spine, it still hurts sometimes, and I have to pay about 60% of my salary for the operation until next year. Again, other 2 guitars had to go. Then...1 1/2 months after that surgery, I had appendicitis!!!

If you think that's bad luck...wait! For some time, I've had a tingling sensation in my left hand that comes and goes for periods. I had a lot of testing done, and I don't have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or any of the typical stuff...the conclusion of several doctors) is that I have "some kind" of nerve damage, and that there's nothing to be done. Of course, right now I'm on one of the heavy tingling periods!!!! Luckily, it doesn't seem to compromise motion in any way, but it is disturbing!!!!

So to recap...in the last year, I have had 2 surgical procedures, and the back thing took 2 of my hobbies away from me (hopefully not forever): weightlifting and mountain biking. My other great passion, the guitar, was also affected, since I lost 4 of my guitars (I kept my PGM 10th), and I have this hand thing, that I don't know what is! To top it all, I have a huge debt, which killed my plans of buying an apartment.

Well, sorry for the ranting!!! Happily, I think I have had a very positive attitude though all of this (many would have ended doing Prozac!), and things look good ahead: I love my current job, it's good money and there's plenty of development opportunities, things are really good with the GF...I KNOW I'll be OK!

Thanks for reading!

One PGM is better than none

You can get 'em back someday.

I'm glad you've got a good attitude.

Many people in a similar situation wouldn't.

Its a good thing you can look past the ups and downs.

Re: Hi and a little venting...

Sorry to hear that man. I can kinda relate to the back thing as I'm going in for a second back surgery in 3 months. The lack of cash has forced me to put 4 of my guitars on **** right now just to live on while I'm off.

I hope better days are just around the corner for you

Red face

Re: Hi and a little venting...

I could be like everyone else and say "I'm so sorry!" but I decided to use fancier words and write you a poem all at the same time! YES!

My condolences to you my friend
It's great your happiness never ends
Your guitars will one day come back to you
You will be able to regain that love, so true!

I'm happy that you are doing better today
I'd be really mad at that company that didn't pay!
This poem is dork, that's no lie!
I guess that's it for me "stopping by"!

haha... Anyways. Your future will be MUCH better!

~ Katrina

Tough to get it all at once.

Hang in there, who knows, next year can be the opposite.
