I buried my Grandmother today.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm going to lose my last and favorite grandparent here soon, and I'm having a really hard time with it. It really hurts. My father's family is fighting, which makes it even worse. My grandfather is 95, and has all sorts of old age issues. He was forced to have to go to a nursing home to get the kind of constant attention that he needs. I've been rather fortunate to grow up with my grandparents being an important part of my life. I'm going to be 38 in two days.

I've always had my grandfather up on such a high pedestal. He taught me how a man should treat a woman. When I was a young girl, he always walked on the curb side of the sidewalk. He explained to me that that is what gentlemen did for ladies in the horse and buggy days.

I am so sorry and it is hard to find that same unconditional love anywhere else in this world that a grandparent can give.

I wasnt even her blood grandchild, and she didnt have to love or even like me but instead she took me and treated me like one of her own. It is so true that such unconditional love is hard to find.
