That doesn't sound probable. They make it sound like there was a pathogen or toxin in the fog that caused his ALS (that's what he has, right?). Call me crazy, but what he has isn't something that you "catch."

Re: I over heard a rumour about the disease Jason Becker has
Hi,
Yeah, Jason has ALS, also known as "Lou Gehrigs disease". It's pretty much a progressive disease, which makes you loose control of your body slowly. It's a real bugger that a young guy like Jason Becker got hit with this disease.
The last thing he recorded, as far as I know, are some solo's on DLR album "A little ain't enough". He arranged a lot of the songs though. I remember that he was using a computer at that time, and that playing had become difficult for him.
I don't know if he's still alive.
Hail Jason Becker! Master in a league of his own!
Regards,
D.

ALS is a neuron disease that as far as we can guess is genetic. Stephen Hawking has it too.
Becker is still alive, and has released albums since being dehabilitated.

Too bad there's no cure for this stuff. And even if there was, it would still not help Jason because his nerve tissues are long gone.
ALS is scary sh#t. Donate to
http://www.alsa.org/donate/default.cfm
- maybe one day they'll invent a pill to stop it at first symptoms.

This is a great lesson. Older people can still be full of it. Older doesn't always mean wiser; often it just means people have hung around the earth doing the same things longer and learning nothing.

No, it's not. Otherwise you would see Jason Becker in a gas mask when he's around anyone else. As far as I know it's genetic - you're born with it.

Reality check - most people are stupid, older or younger.
