Re: ibanez rules????

I think it is just a temporary server error. I was just there a couple of days ago but tried yesterday and got this same error page. I'm sure Rich will see your post here and get on it soon.

Rich makes comment on server problems in this thread.....

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showth...t=72672&page=2

The thread had a link to the pic's from the NAMM show. It's apparently still down. But it sounds like he's been in contact and is trying to get the problems resolved.

We'll just have to be patient.....

These guys have a huge amount of bandwidth pretty cheap, and I've never had an issue with down time or server outages. 1and1.com
Business accounts start at $5/ Mo 250GB space 2.5 TB bandwidth.
I know you have a LOT of traffic.

Bamm.... I use 1&1 also. Great service and pricing is reasonable too! I just received an e-mail where they have special pricing on several services going on. Kinda like a "clearance sale" on server space and dedicated servers.

Yeah, everything is 1/2 off, so it'd be an opportune time to switch if he deemed it necessary.

Re: ibanez rules????

for times like yesterday he needs a dedicated server. for 95% of the year he does not, since he does not use alot of cpu or load the server with heavy scripts, just some simple html bandwidth (serving jpgs).

1/2 off or 80% off Rich needs a little more service & management than 1&1 could ever provide on a dedicated server. there are alot of factors, some of which are a real headache... glen

Re: ibanez rules????

How much managment does he need? His website is pretty simplistic, not like hes running back office or large databases.

not to pick on Rich while he's sleeping, but he uses frontpage. hehe.

trust me, he'll be the first to want good support. i would recommend these guys I use to Rich, but my server doesn't run his old email scripts, a major problem or he'd have been off yahoo last year

Frontpage!?!! ROFL!

Dreamweaver is the way to go, more so if you run a php. He needs to update that email script then. I work with scripts and could it for a fee

Re: ibanez rules????

if you think you can seriously look at the script & attempt a fix (or at least determine why it fails on this server) i'd be glad to give you an ftp area to test it.

OK, I'm up, you can stop picking on me now

I know 10 times more about web crap than I ever wanted to, and I'd love to forget it if I could. Bottom line is Paul hit it right on the money if the 2008 thread. I've had to move umpteen times now because "everything is cool" when you sign up, even though you've explained usage and try to make sure the new host won't have a problem, it isn't long before you're a problem, and looking for a new host. And moving is no fun at all with all the little bugs that pop up, I can remember one seemless move in the last 8 years, the rest have led to premature baldness and grumpy dispositions!
