Is the internet being freaky-deaky today?

About 80% of the US sites I try to visit today won't load. What's up with that? Did a giant squid chew through an undersea cable or something?

Okay, this is weird - about 10 minutes after posting this thread, all the sites I couldn't get in to all day became available again. *looks around suspicously* Is this the Matrix?

Yeah I was almost ready to jump on my kangaroo and ride it the 100 miles into town to see if the oxes that pull the turbines at the power station had been eaten by a wallaby or something.

Uh huh. Not that they dared mention anything about it on their service status page. I swear, that page is nothing but a Jedi mind trick. "There's nothing wrong with your internet connection. Move along."

When it comes to the internet, Australia is a third world country.

I'm using Exetel and they suck, but so do all the other providers so what do ya do?

Rock on!

Fact is we have a very small population to support ISP's which allow massive downloads and bandwidth speeds.

Not much one can do untill either our population doubles or we pay more for better service.

Australia is an expensive place to live, but weigh in the ISP against lifestyle and Australia wins hands down...

No wars, no famine, massive land mass to share with 20 million people, we got it good. Last place to go if the US and europe have a nuclear fall out :P lol

Australia Rocks and we all know it...

This one time I acted in a short film, a scene of which was shot in Bert Newton's office at Channel 10. He had a box full of Bert & Pattie LPs on his desk. He wasn't there but I had a scene with Belvedere.

It wasn't THAT kind of film.

Good calls both! I'm trying to work up the courage to hit Brett up for lessons some time soon. And Virgil is a monster.
